Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

To be fair, I think that firemap Hawk en Truman were looking at was just a fantasymap Hawk made in his free time. For me the most jarring unresolved plotline is we never got to see Jesse's sweet new ride!

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

This short music clip that came out this year brought back more of the original TP vibe to me than all 18 hours of The Return:

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

So many times the disappointed were reviled for supposedly being terminal nostalgics who just wanted the same old TP as the original, but when a big part of the finale is actually exactly that: footage of the fucking original FWWM, all of a sudden it's amazing beyond words. While to me reusing old f...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Leland's scenes made him look like an animatronic the way he was awkwardly filmed from above sitting in his chair saying "find laura". Maybe an idea for an attraction in TP: The amusement park.

Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

That act, the storytelling and contemplation, does matter, even if nearly everybody was most likely totally wrong about every conclusion they came to, when they were able to come to a conclusion at all. Finally, Hastings's "zone" and Tammy's "tulpas" and Gordon's "Judy"...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Also, racism. The only black character gets to be a sexworker, the only asian character gets to be a placeholder for the *reaaal* character who is off course a) white and b) Laura Dern. Then they are also the only two who had to do topless scenes, if you overlook a brief sideboob shot of Laura Dern....

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

In the end it's a 1. commercial tv series for 2. entertainment purposes, that purported to be: 3. a reboot of a classic. I think it failed on all three counts. If anyone sees a deeper meaning in it, well i guess it can't hurt really, but to me it's like reading tea leaves.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If anything is tainted by The Return it's likelier to be the Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire trilogy from what I've read about part 18.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I haven't even watched the finale yet, just the first part of part 17 before work this morning. Started off with some really wooden explanatoring again by Lynch with Tammy looking at him like some sort of swan, i tried to like her but she can't even sit in a believable way it seems, then some more c...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

And a certain moron left a comment at that link you posted (...) that she (Julee) has mental issues?! Shame on them! Fans said the same about Sherilyn Fenn when she voiced her disappointment with how she was treated. From interviews I've seen Sherilyn and Julee seem like loving sweet persons. Incid...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

To me it's basically like a bunch of old friends carefully gathered all the ingredients to make a wonderful cherry pie together and then just when they want to start Lynch barges in with a chef hat, pushes everyone out of the kitchen and says: right i'm gonna make banana crepes with this and just im...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

All in all, it's just a damn shame imo. They had almost all of the old cast reunited some 25+ years after, Lynch & Frost at the helm, Badalamenti and Cruise ready to burst out in song, a budget from Showtime, and then they spend most of the time in Vegas focusing on MacLachlan only, who doesn't ...
