Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
Nope. Then why is she taking it as an intentional slap in the face? Because Julee Cruise is eccentric and had an unrealistic expectation for her screen time. I know what you'll say: 'but Eddie Vedder!' I don't care. This is the finale, she should have expected to be cut down, as several were before...

Entirely consistent with spoled houswife trope. Why didn't HE look after the kid, so SHE didn't have to.

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
I wonder if this is taken from an old conversation with Michael J Anderson. It's a recording of the last conversation they ever had, when DKL was explaining that all the actors besides Kyle are getting scale. Why was there not just one thread made for part 17 & part 18? Seeeing as this o...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
It is kind of fucked up that we have to sit through an entire Eddie Vedder song and Julee Cruise is only a few seconds. The FB comments make it seem like there is a lot going on behind the scenes. I feel like maybe some of the wrong people have Lynch's ear? I mean Eddie Vedder? Why the fuck is Eddie...

Dude, you're like immune to logic Na I get what you are saying. But you aren't looking at the big picture No, you aren't. Do you seriously believe Lynch - who is historically fond of janky, weird and anachronistic, obviously fake FX in many pieces of his work - would blow the bulk of the budget on ...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
I think the point here is that the tulpa effects might not appeal to you, but "cheesy" signifies going for one thing and ending up with another. There is no realistic example of a tulpa breaking down to seed, but looking at Lynch's art, the exact material he based that particular effect o...

You don't know me or what I like. Please tell me more about this fascinating avant garde. The tulpa effects are beyond being "cheesy". I think the point here is that the tulpa effects might not appeal to you, but "cheesy" signifies going for one thing and ending up with another....

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
Or they could have done everything they did intentionally, don't you think? You have to understand that David Lynch is not a realist. His aesthetic interests are all about challenging realist representation. That's what surrealism, expressionism, Dada, and absurdism are all about. EDIT: When people...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
If you watch the credits this season, only one visual effects house has done the effects in every part: BUF. So the same guys that did the super realistic atom bomb test and frog-bug also did the tulpa effects. So it isn't about cost or the quality of the effects house doing the work, it clearly is...
