Re: Important JUDY Related Observation

Not to derail the conversation, but has anyone caught this definition yet?

There's something interesting to me about that in relation to the final moment of the show.

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

It sort of sounds like they might already be kicking around ideas. I didn't get the impression from that ending that they were trying to set up more, but I have no doubts that they could pull it off if they wanted to. It will be very interesting to see how the dust settles on the worlds and timeline...

Re: Poll: Criticism of The Return

I chose dropped plotlines because there are a few stories and characters I would have liked a bit more closure on if they were going to bother with others. And I don't believe there will be or was ever intended to be another series produced after this one, so until proven wrong I'm operating under t...

Re: TPTR and the Mythology of Twin Peaks

I think The Return makes a good job at explaining the use of the Ring, as a tool to bind the dead to be trapped in the Lodge. It indeed condemned the dead Laura to be trapped to the Lodge. It did the same with Ray once Mr.C made him wear the ring and killed him. And it was used to send an empty Mr....

Re: TPTR and the Mythology of Twin Peaks

For the record, I think the Black Lodge was mentioned twice- once by DoppelCoop and once by Hawk. Oh right thanks. But that actually supports my feeling that they wanted to suggest that the Lodges were really just perhaps the local Native American concept of what those places are, and that the trut...

TPTR and the Mythology of Twin Peaks

TR introduces several new concepts to the mythology of the world of Twin Peaks, and turns some things we thought we knew on their heads. How do you feel about TR's contrubutions to that mythology? One thing I noticed is that there seemed to be a conscious decision to move away from many of the mytho...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

Let's not forget that it was Frost who had the initial idea for this thing and had to sell Lynch on it, despite his long-held insistence that it was dead. I imagine Mark had to have a fairly concrete idea of where he wanted to go with it to get Lynch interested. Based on what I know of them and read...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?

I'll say this about the original series. I think the drop in quality, particularly the duration of it, is often overestimated. In my opinion it takes a sharp downturn in episode 2.10, but it starts improving at 2.16 (despite drunk Harry in 2.17), and by 2.18 I think it's firing on all cylinders agai...

Re: Part 18: something's bugging me...

There was only one room, and it did not match the exterior of the building they walked into to begin with. So if there was a time jump it had to have happened the moment they walked in, and I just don't see that being the case. I think it was more like the reality shifting when they walked in to tha...

Re: Poll: Do You Understand Now Why S.F. was pissed about her role in The Return?

One thing I can say is that throughout all of this Sherilyn Fenn has never had anything but praise for David Lynch, so I don't think her problem was with the role, but how she was treated by others behind the scenes. Nevertheless she's been very supportive of the show itself, and was even campaignin...

Re: Music From The New Series

Oh good I'm glad it isn't just me then. Yes I adore Windswept too. The moment TR really clicked for me was in Part 6 when Dougie was exposing the insurance scam and I thought, "THAT's where the jazz vibe of Twin Peaks landed in this incarnation. It's more somber and reflective, but breezy and o...

Am I the only one who actually likes Lissie's song? It isn't my usual taste, but it came to me at a time when I needed to hear those words, so I have nothing bad to say about it.

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?

It's still too soon for me to commit, because TP, FWWM, and TR each bring something unique and wonderful to the table that is Twin Peaks. Of course I'm inclined to lean more towards TR right now because it's new and I'm still totally obsessed by it, but one thing I can say for sure is that it's a mu...

Re: The Return Soundtrack - a complete track list?

I found this on youtube, although I haven't verified all of it yet. I used it to construct my complete playlist for the time being though. I'm sure it's not 100% perfect, but it's a good place to start. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT6aoI6Aki8xeOrcJ9Avho3ZGjC4GghY2 Here's the reddit post th...
