Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)

And for the record, I doubt that if Lynch is debuting something at Cannes that it is Twin Peaks-related, so that possible happening is not my metric. Wouldn't be unprecedented... https://www.indiewire.com/2017/05/david-lynch-twin-peaks-standing-ovation-at-cannes-1201832359/ https://www.festival-can...

Sorry, probably isn't the time or place, but just felt compelled to log on and express my opinion that Spielberg is a masterful director, that in some ways he seems oddly underrated, and that his filmmaking techniques are only getting more sophisticated and exciting even at this stage of his career....

They might! Soderbergh shot High Flying Bird (a Netflix production) with an iPhone 8.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

A perfect example. The diversity terror is so dominant now, that even in completely white (historic) societies, progressive filmmakers tend to cast black actors these days. Politics isn't even a side argument, but the main dish in many cases. Wow. Good thing there were only white people in the 50s,...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

I don't really care if the effects are 'shitty' - I find myself more concerned with the overall (lack of) suspense of disbelief. No problems with Laura's face suddenly smeared on to Donna's in season 1 (as rubbish as it seems in retrospect), but Sarah removing her face destroyed what was building t...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Please dude those special effects looked so shitty. Nobody said "CGI must equal realism". CGI fucking sucks, but that was just so awful and stupid and cheap if you are talking about the FX when the Dougie and Diane 'tulpas' were converted into gold balls (' you have been manufactured...')...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

The original series was full of continuity errors and other mistakes, it really had never been as meticulously pieced together as some people seen to think, so I'm not sure why (some) people seem convinced that all the cock-ups this time around are intentional. Yep. And we know DKL filmed all this ...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

To go from the Becky shoots the door sequence (and RR scene) to Becky calling Shelly to Steven in the woods is not great storytelling. There has to be some literal missing pieces there, some kind of exposition. Agreed. The way that narrative thread is presented makes it hard to care about any of it.

My response to Part 15 is up: http://www.lostinthemovies.com/2017/08/twin-peaks-return-part-15-theres-some.html. I kinda suspect Cooper is not gonna be revived with his full faculties. Being comatose in a hospital bed might work though, as it elegantly skirts the question of "will seeing his o...

Audrey and Charlie. Sign me up for a stage play featuring these two, somewhere between Sartre's No Exit and Beckett's Waiting for Godot . Let's call it 'The Lurker at the Threshold' after Derleth's Lovecraftian tale, but restrict it completely to the interior of this home. Three or maybe four hours...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Thought this episode was... ok. Started out great, and featured some wonderful moments, but lost its momentum and kinda petered out. I enjoyed it, as I have the entire run, but not as much as others here. The scene with Steven was a low point. I just cannot bring myself to give a damn about his char...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

I've not been able to read every page because of how much this episode has been sizzling, but I wanted to mention how, after Andy exists the portal, that Frank, Hawk, and Bobby arrive at their standing places around Jack Rabbit's Palace while cross fading from several different takes that have them...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

- I love the sudden arrest of Chad. People have been speculating if the Twin Peaks police does any work at all besides looking at 25 year-old cases. Well, it seems like Truman and Hawk were always in the know but we didn´t see them talking about it. If you look at other shows that came out in the l...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

I would be happy to admit I was wrong, if that's how it turns out. I already admitted I'm probably wrong about Audrey's reality, which I didn't want to believe after the first scene and argued with some people about, but after the second, equally weird scene, I had to admit that this is probably no...
