Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
More interesting is the etymology back through challenge, the chal part of which is believed to come from calumny, which is all about trickery and deception. This (probably dubious) article even finds both a Latin and a Celtic root, both of which are all about trickery, confusion, and bewichment. h...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Still, Mrs. Chalfont always seems to mean well, doesn't she? As in, her name means well. "This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend." Well, this may as well be the well. If her name means well, maybe she does not mean well at all. So: What is the water? Garmonbozia?

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
[quote="Saturn's child"][quote="Drgarage"]One interesting note: Chalfont as a name originates to an Olde English place name specifying the location of a well. And Tremond more or less literally means "Tree of Life." Are the Chalfonts Judy, i.e.: the source of all pain a...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
I'm more inclined to think the Jumping Man is another visual shade of Judy, if those brief visual connections are to be given weight, than to remove all the other satisfying plot and thematic implications that Sarah is Judy. There is definitely a connection between the Jumping Man and Judy (and by ...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Why is everyone so sure that the Sarah is possessed by Judy? All the clues we have received are that Sarah is possessed by the Jumping Man. The Jumping Man might be a different aspect of the grandson, but there has always been another Chalfont besides the grandson. Especially in light of the last s...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
I just rewatched both parts (couldn't resist) and the little move that Cooper makes right before he says "What year is this?" to Laura is not a Dougie move as some has described it (at least not only).. it's the almost exact move that Mister C makes before being thrown into the White Lodg...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
With Judy being a potentially demonic evil entity, it really makes Jeffries' dialogue in FWWM a bit .. incongruous? Doesn't he say something along the lines of "Judy is *sure* of this!", in regards to the convenient store and stuff. I know they're just repurposing old stuff, but, that lin...

To add--other than Woodsmen, the Jumping Man is the only consistent spirit at the Dutchman's.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Longtime lurker, just registered because a few things make sense to me that I haven't seen discussed yet: -- Everyone is saying that Sarah is possessed by Judy. But the actual imagery around her dark side seems connected to the Jumping Man and/or the Boy. Richard and Carrie went to Sarah's house exp...
