While I won't offer any theories, I will offer some interesting Jumping Man Trivia. Carlton Russell, who plays the Jumping Man was not the original person cast for this role. In french, it's not "le noix", but "la noix", it's in the feminine! In fact, it means "la noix de coco" = coconut

You can see lithographies of DL and "Paris Suite" at this link (the name is "Item Éditions" and not "Idem").

Unfortunately, I live in France, but not in Paris... Sorry :(
