Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

This is the problem when you have too high expectations regarding a topic. If the expected does not come, comes the low of confidence with respect to that subject. It has happened to me with this one, several times more. Not punishment. But we weren't really expecting much information this long bef...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

So the "two-hour premiere" is actually episodes 1 and 2 because after that episodes 3 and 4 become available? They are referring to it as an "18 hour series". So, if you consider the premiere one episode, it's really 17 "episodes" total? Yeah, I think it will be 16 epi...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I watched the pilot episode of S3. It was completely incoherent mess. And very very boring. At one point a puzzled Cooper was looking at his own face carved in a mountain. The episode lasted for 2 hours. Not a single scene was set in Twin Peaks. I was thinking that maybe this first episode is like t...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

They'll release Twin Peaks action figures, release the script with them and expect us to play the series with the toys. That's all we're going to get. EDIT: They will have one episode properly made. But it happens in a mysterious place with no light. You can listen to that episode on radio or you ca...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I've said before though that I always liked/preferred the idea of a cold looking Twin Peaks though (both in terms of time of year outside and the weather, but, also the look), so, I might be in the minority. That coldness is good outside. But if you bring that cold feeling also to interiors, I thin...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

All I have to do is remember Dell Mibbler shuffling oh-so-slowly across the bank floor to remind me that it is indeed possible that we could see Cole mouth sexing a donut in protracted silence during an actual scene. This is Twin Peaks, after all. -Mordeen It would be funny if there would be a scen...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

He's actually pictured rolling his eyes back into his head. Picky, I know, but there is a distinction I believe. Could still mean something though. I would LOVE it if they did re-appropriate unused footage. That would be a beautiful tribute. Damn, how I had forgotten that! It was something I notice...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

What if there is a doppelganger Briggs messing with things? After all, Richard Beymer had taken photos of Briggs having those white eyes. I wonder if they filmed doppelganger Briggs in Red Room during the filming of the last episode of S2. If they did, I wonder if some of that footage will appear on...

Re: How much did you enjoy The Secret History of Twin Peaks?

This is a weird thing. I've read it once. Big part of the book was quite a big disappointment. I had huge expectations. Parts of it were excellent, although bigger part was disappointing. The execution was flawless and really quite the work of a genius, but the content disappointed. However, it seem...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

vRz3deg1crY This is great! One of the best parts of the book and I'm amazed to hear it narrated. Very well spoken. Although... It still irks me that there are "distant star" and "evolution" mentioned. Well, perhaps distant star or planet could still be something interestingly me...

Re: RE: Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I think David Lynch thinks ideas are "alive" and out there. And maybe life is those ideas in physical forms. So basically every single version of our reality is out there as ideas. There is the idea of me wearing a white shirt instead of a black shirt right now. So what if Lynch wanted to ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Sorry for the triple post! But... Reading this thread further I'm starting to think that maybe this book really IS a work of genius after all! I mean, IF all the "wrong" things are intentional and if there really is some sort of a "it was really Windom and not Briggs who wrote the dos...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

If anything, I think this whole book represents leftovers of Frost's ideas and vision that never made it into the show. I sincerely doubt the new show will be similar to this novel, both in terms of tone and in comparison with some of its pulpier elements. Yeah, it kinda feels like we are reading w...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

-I didn't mind most of the inconsistences. I could imagine Jacoby lying both to others and himself so that he wouldn't have to think Laura was underaged. -It was odd to read Cooper being shot my Windom. I thought if I'm just remembering things wrong here. Anyways, him shooting Cooper seems to me som...
