Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I've now read about 4/5 of the book. It has had wayyyy too much UFO stuff. I'm kinda worried if the 3rd season will have that type of UFO stuff too. I remember being very relieved when they kinda ditched the regular UFO stuff away in the second season and went another direction. Maybe this book does...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

FINALLY got my copy of the book today! I had preordered it maybe a month ago from amazon.co.uk. Now it finally arrived.

I have read 50 pages of it now. Some of it has been very heavy to read, but there have already been plenty of extremely interesting things laid out.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Maybe it's a money thing with Fenn. What if it was all about money for Ontkean too. Maybe he didn't want to join because he got offered too little. Maybe unlike MJA and probably Fenn, he was the only one to handle it with some dignity and just politely declined. Well, MJA is the only one who has ope...

Re: Original Season 3 Plans

- The Lodge dopplegangers would exist in a realm several seconds behind normal time, or something Not quite, but almost, and I think it wasn't a plan for season 3 but something that came from writing Fire Walk with Me. When talking about the monitor scene in FWWM Robert Engels said the idea was tha...

Re: Twin Peaks Poll - First Time

I didn't see the ORIGINAL original airing since I don't live in the US, but I saw the first airing in Finland. Apparently the Finnish air date of the pilot was on 18 February 1991. I was 8 years old.

Re: Take a poll

34 here. Season 3 of Twin Peaks is 100%-literally a dream-come-true. -(age 43) And literally a dream come true because ever since this was announced I and I'm sure others too have seen dreams about watching season 3. My latest dream had Cooper finding some weird looking boat and he made a god-awful ...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I had a dream watching S3... for the tenth time. It's always either the best thing I've ever seen or the most disappointing thing I've ever seen. This time it was awesome... mostly! David Lynch himself was screening the season at some theatre type of place. The show was excellent, and then Lynch sai...

Re: The _ _ _ _ _ _ Show (S3 casting - or non-cast - spoiler

To me, the Sheriff Department of Twin Peaks is a proof that you don't have to be a particularly good actor to be able to create a great character. I think Ontkean, Goaz and Horse in Twin Peaks all were somewhat wooden actors what came to the technical side of acting. The way they said some of their ...

Re: "Elga, Baby! Damn! No, I found something!"

I don't believe a second he says "Elga", I think it's all about the translator hearing it wrong. Just like with "Are you the man?" in Missing Pieces (which I'd love that to be, though). I remember some Finnish release of FWWM had it translated as "Ei himmennystä" which ...

Re: Cooper's lost soul

I don't necessarily think there ever was a split. Maybe the other half is there the whole time, but it only emerges when the person wandering in the Lodge is "opened up" enough so that the person would be at his/her most vulnerable state. Only then would the confrontation be the most real,...

Re: Cooper in season 3: good Coop or evil Coop?

Resolving that cliffhanger needed to happen back then, not 25 years later. It's not a situation that could hang in the air unresolved for 25 years, in my opinion. Why's that? In Leland's case Mike said Bob has been near for nearly 40 years, which I think is to be understood that Leland has been aff...

Re: Cooper in season 3: good Coop or evil Coop?

- Do you think the Cooper we meet in the new season will be the familiar Cooper we all know and love from the show, finally escaped from the Black Lodge? I think the season either opens with a scene where the good Cooper escapes (or is rescued) or the good Cooper is still in the Black Lodge. I don'...

Re: Wishes...Hopes...& Dreams

Desmond and Stanley would be fun to see again. Both played by their original actors Isaac and Sutherland! I would love to see some scenes set in the abandoned train car where Laura was murdered, and Glastonbury Grove. Give me an early shot of the twelve sycamore trees in the forest and I'll be pumpe...

Re: True Detective

The final episode of the 2nd season was the best episode in the whole series. FINALLY it was interesting to see where things were going. All in all, the second season was better and more interesting than the first season. I still stand with my notion that the faults people saw in this season were ve...

Re: True Detective

The concept of the season long anthology show is fairly new... are there other examples than True Detective, American Horror Story and Fargo? If that's the case and there is no connection between the stories in True Detective, it may be the only one where the seperate stories are completely disconn...
