Re: Fell a victim

I had always thought it was either a command to victimize or an observation that Bob had victimized. But an observation that Bob himself was a victim is a fascinating interpretation. Bob does have "the fury of his own momentum." Perhaps he is addicted, perhaps he and the Arm both, to pain ...

Re: Weird "Invitation to Love" variant soundtrack, TV vs. DV

I understand the the Blu-Ray thankfully returns to something like the original mix.... Holy unnecessary aesthetic intervention, Batman! Glad the Blu-ray sort of fixes that... but what exactly do you mean by "something like" the original mix? I just mean that the music was cranked back up ...

Re: Weird "Invitation to Love" variant soundtrack, TV vs. DV

I had noticed this as well! I'm reminded of the re-mixed audio for the FWWM DVD, wherein the Pink Room scene music was EQ's and the dialog pushed up to be entirely intelligible, rendering the subtitles unnecessary. If you switch to one of the non-English soundtracks on the DVD, you can hear somethin...

Re: Unreleased Twin Peaks Music Announcements - Official Thr

During the second half of "Turkish Undertones" form the same soundtrack I hear something quite like "Unease Motif/The Woods" reversed and at an original speed. Interesting! That theme was used throughout TP and FWWM...

Re: Unreleased Twin Peaks Music Announcements - Official Thr

Did anyone else notice that three of the half speed/slow speed orchestra tracks are actually from Badalamenti's score to "The Comfort of Strangers", which has been re-released with more music from Quartet Records last year? Half Speed Orchestra 4 (Dugpas) = Brooding on Beach (pitched down...

Re: Fire Walk With Me early drafts

Amidst all the excitement going on these days, I have always been incredibly interested in reading any early drafts. Especially with the 50's prologue Bob Engels has mentioned in a few interviews. This is the first I'd heard of the 50's prologue. Calls to mind Mike's comment to Cooper that Bob had ...

Re: The European Version alternate ending

Also, I don't have a script in front of me, but what is with Mike saying as he dies, "Anybody got a nickel?" Is that what he says? "Have you got a nickle?" SUCH a curious line. My only suggestion is that perhaps one or both of these cultural oddities had been lodged in Lynch or ...

Re: The European Version alternate ending

If I’m not mistaken the European ending is the only filmed material we’ve ever seen which sits squarely outside the Twin Peaks canon – in other words what we’re shown onscreen (or some of it) ostensibly “didn’t happen” and conflicts with what did. Leland didn’t call Lucy at this point, Mike didn’t ...
