Re: Parts 3 & 4 - Call for help & ...brings back some memories (SPOILERS)

^ love that scene, the night lighting, Dougie tightly gripping the white bag with that perplexed look on his face.. very Mulholland Drive. i'm actually just flicking through the unaired Mulholland Drive pilot on YouTube to see what differs in the edit (quite a lot to be sure, i think Sweeney edited ...

Re: Cooper's conversation with The Fireman in episode 1 (linear and non-linear approaches)

The missing FBI pin is probably just a continuity error.. I sincerely doubt that the first scene of the season - a scene all about clues and being alert, would have such a glaring continuity error in it. i agree. it seems that Lynch payed special attention to the pin when directing the series, it's...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

Without getting into the context, which would violate forum rules, it’s relevant to note this tweet from Mark today. the whole Jacoby / Dr Amp thing feels so much more Frost than Lynch.. from my observations Lynch has never been very interested in politics. other examples that struck me like that i...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

7 minutes of floor sweeping does not sound like fun. To kill the time, get up, boogie, stuff a donut in your mouth. Do an espresso shot. yep, the floor sweeping scene don't bother me much on a rewatch because we got to take in a great track like "Green Onions" and i think it's a pretty fu...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Re: Mark Frost's quote about David Lynch's storytelling abilities. I responded to the same quote about a year ago, stating that the three films that Lynch has written without a co-writer are considered his three masterpieces: Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive. The writing credits for Mul...

Re: Music From The New Series

i'm doing some research trying to find the correct version. this site has a lot of classical styles of music for download in Mp3 or FLAC at reasonable prices.. there's two versions of "Threnody" performed by the Warsaw National Philharmonic that i can find. from what i understand there are...

Re: Poll: Worst Roadhouse performance

Two people voted for The World Spins? Wow. yeah i seriously can't understand the hate for Julee Cruise's performance either. i wonder if perhaps some people couldn't see it in anything but negative light after seeing Julee herself was not happy with it. i just don't get it though, Julee cruise perf...

Re: Cooper's conversation with The Fireman in episode 1 (linear and non-linear approaches)

On a related note: Is Fireman the same character as the Giant in the original series? It's the same actor, but are there any other reasons to assume they are the same? In the original series, the Giant clearly says he is only allowed to give Cooper hints, and a limited amount of them. But the Firem...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

i really, really like this book. unlike the earlier tie-in books, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer (which i enjoyed quite a bit) and The Autobiography of Dale Cooper (which i didn't grab me much) i think Mark Frost's contribution to the Twin Peaks books could stand on its own as an intriguing piece ...

Re: Connections to TSHOTP (SPOILERS)

The Secret History is a really good book to go back and glance at once in a while, i read it once when it came out, then once slowly during the course of the series (starting around the episode 8 break i think) and i started to read the early chapters again. there's a lot of interesting parallels an...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

... in episode 12 when we see Hawk at Sarah's doorstep and there's a sudden crash somewhere inside the house wouldn't it be neat if it was actually the Reber's we heard (on instructions from Lynch) as it would imply it was somehow The Tremonds we heard. Almost as if a sliver of reality already perm...

Re: Music From The New Series

so does anyone have the "Threnody" version by Witold Rowicki in their CD collection? would be very grateful if anyone would be willing to rip it in as high quality as possible and upload it.. WAV would be the best. i think it would be worth ripping the CD of the score and replacing that tr...
