Re: Music From The New Series

Somebody messed-up big time, they put the WRONG RECORDING ENTIRELY on the disc. It's the one by Herbert Kegel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qj6nFMaM0M Looks like we need to start sending some emails. I suspect it's a rights thing and maybe they couldn't get the version they licensed for the sho...

Re: What were the most impactful scenes of TP:TR?

hard to say but i think my vote would be for the entire first 15 minutes of episode 3.. i know it's not one scene but it's all presented as one moment, with actions and consequences between two different places and two different characters who in reality are one and the same. so everything from Coop...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)

She doesn't look or act frazzled or overburdened, Junkie Mom next door looks frazzled and overburdened. Nor does Janey-E express concern for anyone except herself, least of all Dougle or Sonny-jim. She's shipping Dougie to work, because thats where she needs him to be, to earn money for her. HE obv...

Re: Philip Jeffries learned the horrific truth about Twin Peaks before we, the viewers did...

come to think about it, Episode 8 is one of the best examples i've seen of meshing Frost's interests and writings with Lynch's visual and audiotorial style. Do you mean Part 8 of the new show? If so, I agree wholeheartedly. Episode 8 of the original show is also an interesting case study, if you do...

Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)

for some reason i can't find the thread with connections between Season 3 and earlier David Lynch work but i thought this was pretty neat. especially as i felt the attention to the opposing shots of the open and closed hands were very pronounced in the scene where Red shows Richard the coin trick. ...

Meh, what a typo. Or perhaps a freudian slip? thanks for a very good post, your previous one, not the one i quoted above. i recognize parts of that interview you are talking about and i too have been looking for it again.. on a search i came up with this, but it doesn't mention the source or any mo...

Re: Music From The New Series

Did they put the wrong performance Threnody To The Victims Of Hiroshima on the soundtrack? While I know Lynch rearranged it for part 8, it sounds like an entirely different performance. Isn't this the correct performance? http://www.witoldrowicki.com/en/audio/17.html Somebody messed-up big time, th...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

...just before he woke up in the hospital? This works for me! I'm thinking it's after the police station scene fades. The next shot after is Cooper Diane and Gordon walking to where Cooper reaches the basement and he suddenly now has his pin on. The Giant scene could take place between these two sc...

Re: Parts 1 & 2 - My log has a message for you & The stars turn and a time presents itself (SPOILERS)

I think Hawk was drawn to Glastonbury Grove because that's where Coop was supposed to emerge, if all had gone right. Once the Arm doppelganger interferes and sends Coop into "nonexistence," and Evil Coop puts his tulpa plan into action, Coop was rerouted. What we see in Part 18 is his...

Not for nothin', but everyone calling Philip a teapot is a little funny to me. He obviously is or is inside the white light oval and is being sustained by and or communicates with the teapot. In 17 Dale and Mike are talking to the light oval, not the teapot. yep.. i think most of us who call Jeffri...

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)

from an interview with Lynch.. why would he not be able to answer that? it feels really lazy that he couldn't prep to watch 30 episodes again. i guess they wanted to go in fresh and not be too bound by what came before.. like Fred Madison remembering things how they remember them, and not necessaril...
