And about 5 years older than Jane Greer when she played Norma's mom!

Re: Twin Peaks Reunion in Entertainment Weekly

Went to Barnes and Noble and supermarket today no luck finding Twin Peaks issues. Supermarket had Thor in stock which I found to be a little odd. Barnes and Noble said they won't get new EW issues in till next Tuesday... :/ I'm not much of a magazine buyer, but new comic books tend to be put on the...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

OK, I can't believe I am just realizing this, so I'm sorry if everyone else just rolls their eyes and tells me they figured that out months ago, but for all the discussion of if the mistakes are intentional/why Frost would intentionally make mistakes, has anyone looked at the title? "The Secre...

Re: Twin Peaks Reunion in Entertainment Weekly

That 400 page count is really somethin'. Even if we accept that that was for the original target of 9 hours and L&F subsequently wrote a LOT more, and even given Lynch's love of slow pacing and on-set improvisation, that page count is pretty damn low for even nine hours. In most aspects of this ...

Also a good point. IE didn't even have a cinematographer (or, rather, DKL was his own cinmemtographer).

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Actually, that part in the EW feature is worrying me a bit : 142-day shoot in various cities (no, Twin Peaks 2.0 doesn’t take place exclusively in Twin Peaks) using Lynch’s fave new tool, digital cameras There's nothing to worry about. Everything on TV is shot on digital these days, and while you c...

Not the most flattering shot of Peggy Lipton (who is still a beautiful woman -- that light does her no favors). Otherwise, this is perfect. Big Ed more craggy than ever, Hawk looks glorious with his white mane. It's so incredible that these characters are no longer frozen in time.

Re: The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer (Audiobook)

Such a classy, lovely human being. I'm glad she's voicing Bob as well. It makes sense because to me, the "Bob" of the book is functioning through her subconcious -- manipulating her emotions rather than actually "speaking"' to her.

Re: What's up with the creepy old woman in FWWM

Lost in the Movies's (wonderful) character studies brought my attention to this theory: https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/comments/571jha/official_rewatch_twin_peaks_fire_walk_with_me/d8oruka/ . I'm not convinced that Lynch planned anything so elaborate, and I prefer to let her be a mysterious othe...

Re: Episode 7

Can any original viewers shed light on what the general reaction to the big cliffhanger was? I know it was first and foremost a spoof of 'Dallas,' but it's still a pretty big plot point from a narrative standpoint. Based on anything I've read/seen, it doesn't seem anyone (including the writers) part...

Re: Lara Flynn Boyle putting paid to Cooper and Audrey romance?

(For all his consistently stellar performance, I find it funny how Beymer stated he had trouble getting into the character at first, baguette anecdote and all... and also later? Yes sir, your character's defining trait in the central Laura Palmer narrative is indeed that he groomed a teenager into ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

That's a really good point. I remember quite clearly that Mulholland Dr went a little over my head the first time I watched it, but I was intrigued enough to go for a second viewing - seeing MD a second time was so memorable because I felt like I was watching a brand new film, and it was incredible...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks

I had kind of the opposite look to it. At first when she thought she was 18 I thought it was a bit stupid and too silly but Wendy Robie really grew into the persona and I ended up liking her character more than before when she was just a bit too over dramatic and angry. To each his own. While her f...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks

Nadine in HS, and her super-strength storyline in general, just drags on and on for almost the entire season. It's my pick just due to its length -- not to mention that it completely destroys a character I found both very poignant and beautifully comedic in that slightly "off" Lynchian way...
