Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Heh, that explains Dern's comment a few years ago that DKL was working on a new film. She had no idea what the project was when he started discussing her character with her!

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

I would imagine that Jen understands who he is better than anyone, and gets it. She seemed far more amused than hurt in the interview I read. Plus, again, it was a huge act of trust letting her write the thing in the first place as a completely unproven author.

I'd bet money that Quade Stallworth is just some set dresser's folly, but it's certainly a distinctive name.

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

It's worth noting that Jennifer has also said she doesn't believe her dad read The Secret Diary . It's not a sleight, just one of his quirks. I can understand where he's coming from. He's stuck with the stuff from the series that he didn't conceive, but otherwise wants to keep his personal vision of...

Re: Episode 28

There's just a cognitive dissonance that we've all gone over so many times here (especially evident in, say, an episode 17 or 19) that is embedded at the heart of Twin Peaks. And it goes beyond the already (at times) stark contrast between Frost's and Lynch's sensibilities. Like...episode 7 vs epis...

Are show biz NDAs typically enforceable after the project has been released?

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Lynch's walk-out was by far the longest part of the wait for me. Felt longer than the rest of the time before and since put together. What a heartbreak it would have been to come so close to what we're getting and have it taken away.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

On one hand I can't believe it's so close, on the other I can't believe how long I've been waiting; this was announced in 2014 ! That incredible moment of seeing Lynch and Frost's "gum" tweets one after the other on my feed. I couldn't stop grinning and pacing in excitement for about twen...

Special thanks to Dugpa, Jerry, Ross, Brad, Annie and any other mods! I'm sure their jobs are often thankless, and will probably get a lot tougher with the inevitable influx of new fans. I'm so grateful for this community at this awesome moment in the fandom, and they deserve much of the thanks.

Re: Episode 28

I really like Barry Pullman's script for episode 12 too. It's like everyone was just burnt out on the show at this point. I agree! It's so tough to parse out exactly what each writer was responsible for in the back half of season 2. While there's some undeniably bad dialogue in the Episode 28 scrip...

Re: Windom Earle storyline- what was wrong, what was right

Hope it's ok to revive a thread that's been dormant for a few months, but I just came across this deleted scene in the Episode 28 script, and I think it beautifully encapsulates the issue the writers had with Earle. The scene starts out incredibly promising, with Earle as a silent spooky "ghoul...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

I find it hard to look past Cyril Pons (vs Ponds), Pete not being a chess player, the Norma/Annie alterations, & Lana winning Miss Twin Peaks; I feel these were not accidents. Why do you think Cyril Pons was a change? My impression is that Frost mentioned the name at some point and people extra...

Re: Episode 28

To backtrack a little bit, I don't necessarily hate all the lines in that scene (I'm thinking more of the forest metaphor, which makes me cringe, than the dialogue you quote). Be glad this gem from the script didn't make it onscreen: COOPER: "What I am feeling now has steamrollered every barri...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I think he said in the interview video that dropped today that the new show is a movie that just happened to get "trucked" to the small screen instead of theaters (hope I'm not misremembering, I only watched it once and I was groggy). In Rodley's book, he expresses sadness that the origina...
