Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

"It's all recorded. No hay banda! It's all a tape." - Mulholland Drive Interesting observation about recordings vis-à-vis "Unrecorded Night." It was Dugpa, I think, who mentioned to Lynch the theory of Ronette and Laura being in MD, and to that Lynch replied that it was, "y...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

There are plenty of reasons to hate Netflix, but I'm not interested in talking about them. I will say that cancelling The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, after it won an Emmy no less, is reason enough to hate them. I can sympathize, but I’ve seen so many favorite TV series and comic book series ca...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Another negative thing I’ll say about Netflix is that I HATE the stupid autoplay default setting. It’s so disrespectful to creators as well as annoying to people who care about film.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I'm a very late college student, and most of my classmates are ~10 years+ younger than me. When talking about movies or series, and something I mention gains their interest, they are often disappointed to hear if something is not available on Netflix, and therefore refrain from watching it. So the ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I'm not even sure Netflix is (still) involved since PW removed their name. I'd be very happy for it not to be on Netflix. I really don’t get the opposition to Netflix. Yes, they’re a capitalist money-driven conglomerate, just like every other major film and TV production company. And sure, a lot of...

Re: March 25th or March 27th (25 Years Later)...Or another date?

^^ Somewhat similar to the dubious arithmetic that turns Doppel Coop's comment about being 25 years Richard Horne's senior into proof that Richard is 25 years old. :D LOL math has never been L/F’s strong suit. Which is odd, because Lynch must be pretty good at measuring and calculation when he make...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

So since Balthazar Getty has been talking with Lynch in May, I’m guessing other actors would also have been contacted by Lynch. If this is an original production, one wonders if this means auditions were already occurring before the March shutdown? Or if it’s TP, one wonders if Lynch was VERY close...

Re: Season 3 Production Schedule

[ I remember reading about the Roadhouse performances being shot over two days (possibly a weekend?). I think I read this too. If Audrey's dance was too, it might be around the dates she was filming - and I wonder if all the Roadhouse interior scenes were filmed around then. It seems like for the m...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Absolutely. Black and white (or sometimes just a nighttime scene in colour) can hide it more. I think Hitchcock (and maybe some others) clung to shooting in studios even when others began to move away from it, as the environment was easier to control. These days you only really see fake-looking out...

Re: Season 3 Production Schedule

Great work. When were all the interior Roadhouse scenes shot and were they all grouped together (the performance, the conversations, Audrey's dance, the James/Rene scenes)? Also curious about the Alicia Witt scenes, etc. I’d love more info about the Washington shoot dates. Sadly, the first few week...

Re: Can someone please briefly explain to me how set scheduling working in film production?

Thank you, wow the work you guys do is incredible! So, is the reason why they couldn't just ask for more time because of budget constraints as well? I know that actors schedules play a large role in it too, as you can hersa them say something along the lines of "We'll pay (Richard Beymer) more...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Most outdoor stuff was historically shot in studios in the B&W era in Hollywood. The entirety of Casablanca was shot in studio. Once color came in, the fake nature of the sets became a lot more apparent and location shooting became more common.

Re: Can someone please briefly explain to me how set scheduling working in film production?

There’s a difference between locations and sets. When he talks about “the Fireman’s,” that was a location (a real movie theater in LA, also used in Mulholland Drive) that they only had booked for two days of filming. Here’s a “production schedule” I attempted to put together based on the dates in th...
