Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

I am sorry, I could not manage to read the whole thread, but has anyone brought up the fact that talking to Tammy on the plane, Cole misquotes DoppelCoop? In the interview episode, DoppelCoop greets Cole with "It's yrev very good to see you again old friend", while Cole quotes "I'm y...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

The tension between Ben and Beverly was palpable. I really wasn't sure where this scene was going. Ben held up here at just the last moment: benbev.JPG I did notice the insane sexual tension, it was fantastic. I like that they're portraying Ben as a person that has tried to do better over the last ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I also want to echo Counterpaul regarding the claims of nihilism in Lynch's later work. I actually came back to this thread to address it, and I was pleased that Counterpaul already did. Like him, I don't see Inland Empire as nihilistic in the slightest. It's triumphant, and it has Lynch's happiest ...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

Does the discovery of the dossier predate The Return? Has TP already done her work on it? That was my assumption before The Return started, but I'm not so sure. I've been looking for a dossier in every crime scene/scene of crime we've seen so far. Have we had it definitely confirmed that Agent TP i...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

Three out of four dog-legs are still missing. Jerry's car is missing. The good new is that they found Dougie's car. It was stoooo-len, yet exploded to pieces. An intriguing question lies ahead. Did Richard steal Jerry's car, which might end up with Jerry behind bars and brother Ben's coming to resc...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

I don't know if the date matters or can help up with the dossier. Except that the person going through it does not have it in the story yet. All the matters in terms of what year it is is that it is twenty five years later, the actual date year is immaterial. With the Briggs discovery, is there any...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Anybody else suspect that the show migbt be divided in half, with the front nine detailing Good Coop's return to himself and TP, and the back nine centering on a TP-centric story with Good versus Evil Coop? I wonder if perhaps what we are currently watching is the "addition" they made aft...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

To all those asking about the dossier. The crime scene is dated at the beginning of TSHOTP. I'm not sure if it's a spoiler to say when it's dated, but just check your book out and you can determine whether or not they've found it yet. I assume The Return takes place in 2014, by the way, but who knows.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Technical things aside - am I the only person who thought that the "evolution of the arm" in the scene when Dougie is assaulted was rubbish? And I mean, I truly hate this tree thing but even if it was the one and only little Michael J. Anderson who appeared to Dougie from under the ground...

Re: Product Placement in 2017 Twin Peaks (Spoilers)

Loving product placement (or the lack thereof) in the new series. Especially that Blackberry :) And how they switched from an enormous Mercedes badge on BadCoop's first car to using almost exclusively lincolns, then to an old rusty Ford. All brands of electronics Samsung, Gaypple, a Thinkpad (yay!)...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think we have the same TV...65 inch OLED. Are you watching The Return with the soap opera effect on? I turn it off on every setting. I think that the show looks wonderful on my TV. I didn't notice the digital trees shot that you pointed out above, I will look later for it. I remember going to a f...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

You know....I thought it'd be cool to have a UHD but some stuff is really disconcerting. I watched E.T. the other day and it was almost painfully clear. That whole soap opera effect.... Sometimes, I like it. That time I didn't. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk I think we have the same TV...65 i...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

Yeah, right - one of the main guys of this universe changes the name of a person that went under another name before our very eyes and ears, and I'm the sloppy one (I think we can now safely drop the "alternative timeline" theory that some here have clinged on to when confronted with many...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm the biggest film-worshiping snob on the planet, willing to sell grandma for 16mm and with a feature amidst the final batch of Kodachrome ever processed, but man -- what utter nonsense that they were purposely after a flat, electronic look. You'll never get a quote from Lynch or Deming agreeing ...
