Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

It might be titled "The Return" for marketing reasons or because Lynch likes the expression,/ This seems very likely to me. Just as DKL insisted on calling the "definitive" DVD set "The Gold Box," which outraged many fans at the time because it had nothing to do with T...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

Thanks for the news, Jerry! The word "Final" in the title has a little ring to it. Perhaps as in "closing the book" on Twin Peaks. Not the most popular opinion, but I want Twin Peaks done after this. No more energy to wonder and wait if it will continue or not, who will write/di...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Based on reports that all all actors except MacLachlan got scale, it seems unlikely. Who's bankrolling this anyway? Just Showtime and Rancho Rosa? There's a California tax break, too, right? So whatever the total amount is, they'll get some back that could lower a massive budget by like 30 mil or s...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Heard it from a friend. No confirmation but I've also heard Lynch has started shooting again "on his own". Shooting for Peaks? Surely it's in the can by now, right? There was a post on Twitter a couple weeks ago stating that only the first four episodes are locked (complete). And that Lyn...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I'm still confused about the two hour premiere. Is it parts one and two edited together? Or is it eighteen parts and part one happens to be two hours? The official ShowTime announcement said the show was 18 hours , but in EW, DKL called it a movie in 18 parts . If both those things are accurate, it...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

The issue is not whether the article aligns with my views or not. In fact, I regard FWWM so highly that I doubt anyone's views would agree with mine, save for a few exceptions. The issue is lazy journalism, poor writing, and outright dismissal of the film without even critical evaluation. The same ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I don't know friends, don't you kind of like that David Lynch isn't exactly a critical darling or King of the box office? I'm attracted to his work because it is so different. I'm a bit of an eccentric, it's hard to find folks to relate to sometimes. I have some weird interests. Lynch's work speaks...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Instead, they're pushing their own narrative so hard that the way they framed Sheryl Lee's write-up in their portrait article made it seem like she regrets FWWM and thinks lowly of it, which is of course not the case at all. I really didn't take her write-up as that. And I don't think they could ev...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think I've come up with a term for why even new, younger viewers of FWWM bring out the hate for it: PTTPS Post Traumatic Twin Peaks Syndrome. After how Episode 29 ends, it's not unreasonable to want the next Twin Peaks material you view to resolve that cliffhanger. However, if people can only see...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I don't mind calling it Twin Peaks Season 3, or the new series or season, or The Return, or whatever. I'm open to that. But to think that Lynch's terminology of "Parts" rather than episodes isn't important...is not right, in my opinion. They wrote it like a movie, they shot it like a movie...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Give me a break dude. Lynch isn't a moron and likely learned from his experiences with FWWM. He also has Frost who sat with him on skype for three years writing the scrips. Anyone who thinks they know the whole tone of the entire series is either lying or was directly on set the whole time and is t...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think the reason why many people (especially those in the know) are so insistent about new TP feeling like a different beast and having a lot of plot take action outside of the town is to temper expectations and prepare people for what is coming in order to avoid another FWWM disaster: that is, c...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

At any rate, the season 2 finale and FWWM don't exactly feel like Twin Peaks To me they do. The show is going to be light and dark. Some of the cast pictured apparently have featured roles. These pix send a specific message of the preexisting warm color and tone. I think any people insisting the sh...
