Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Episode 18 felt like an entirely different entity. Pretty much the closest to a post Inland Empire wilderness era David Lynch feature film you can imagine. It is frustrating (although knowingly so, and I don't mind that0, but it's also so, so deeply haunting. I feel akin to the way I did when I saw ...

Mother of god.

I don't know what I feel right now exactly but that final shot is haunting beyond words can describe.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

With the demise of Chantal and Hutch, I'm left wondering - has Lynch been waiting since 1994 to let us know he's not that keen on Tarantino? Honestly, what was the point of these two except to carry out acts of pointless violence, bitch about fast food, then get dispatched in an over the top shower...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Now that's what I call a damn cliffhanger!!! Why couldn't all the episodes be like this? You wouldn't feel like this if all the other episodes weren't the way they were. Exactly, it's the concept of relativity (we enjoy having Coop back so much now because of how long we had to wait - even getting ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I just can't believe we're frittering away the final hours of the show on side stories. Sure, these last 2 episodes have sort of been slightly more focused (kinda...) But this stuff with Ed and all the other secondary crap should have been wrapped up around episode 9 or 10. It's also a bummer that ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It's hard to read the main thread. The praise is fawning, over the top sycophantic. Am I being harsh? Why sycophantic? I just loved the episode, am I a sycophant for having a personal taste? Jeez. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I knew I'd get in trouble for that comment. No, you're not. I'm just ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It's awful. Not just awful compared to the original series, but objectively awful as a piece of TV drama. To be honest, I was hearing alarm bells way before the show started airing. Lynch said that he would be shooting digitally. Uh-oh, I thought. Maybe this is appropriate as an aesthetic choice fo...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

It's easier to see the glitchyness of it in this animated and brightened gif. Ignore the blocky compression artifacts and see how Ed's reflection abruptly jumps between different postures. https://media.giphy.com/media/l41JJZG5Op5eQF7sA/giphy.gif And I STILL barely see that, looks like a tiny editi...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

The idea of a returned Coop does set up an enticing S4... but at the same time it seems like a perfect closing note for the show. I'll be surprised if there is any more but I'd take it! Ultimately it just come down to whether Lynch and Frost think there's enough new story to tell.
