Re: Is Lynch better with constraints? (Spoilers)

There are no doubt other members who can tell you more, but all I was able to find out* is that Axxon N was intended to be an episodic series (putatively 9 parts according to lynchnet) that was going to air on DavidLynch.com. David wanted to do a thing about a girl in trouble in 'The Valley', but w...

Re: Is Lynch better with constraints? (Spoilers)

(as he arguably did in Inland Empire, attempting to weave together two different projects in a meaningful way). Good call on the Sweeney association. Can I ask you to expand on the above point, re: two different projects? Hmm, it's in a John Neff comment left somewhere on dugpa, I'll see if I can f...

Re: When do you think will "Dougie" snap back to being Cooper? (Spoilers)

I thought it would happen a few episodes before the end but in all likelihood it's probably going to be during the finale now.

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

Was anyone else waiting for that suit of clothes in the shadows in Sara's living room to start walking? I was watching the mirrors. When the scene had gone on for far too long, I thought "Yet another one of these slow scenes where nothing happens, we get it, it's a painfully sad existence for ...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

Can anyone clarify the fingerprints plot? Doppel-Coop's prints have one of them backwards, right? When Dougie's prints came back, did the cops say that he had just escaped prison -and- he was a missing FBI agent? I didn't think they would match since one of Doppel-Coop's was backwards. Yeah but I s...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

For some reason the Janey-E scenes gave me a terrible feeling something is going to happen to her. I feel so sad for Audrey, but so excited to see where her story goes. Yup, the scene with her and Dougie at night with the playground thing was a moment of total foreboding. There was a great quote fr...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

Great episode. I'm really loving how Lynch is playing with pace here. This was, again, a pretty slow episode. But it's working for me in a similar way to how Lynch ordinarily plays with dread on a scene by scene basis in his movies, except he's literally extending the concept over entire episodes. E...

Re: Part 12 - Let's rock (SPOILERS)

Just watched Part 12 again. It definitely does improve on repeat viewings, although I guess it is inherently unsatisfying in and of itself.

Re: Discussion of the "Titles" (SPOILERS)

Okay, let's try again with the titles. 13 "What story is that, Charlie?": well, Audrey asking her husband in disbelief after hearing his phone revelations about Richard. 14 "We are like the dreamer.": "Jeffries" explaining his "we live inside a dream" line fr...

Re: Is anyone else a huge Dougie fan and would be sad to see him gone?

I think it's just about striking the right balance. If Dougie outstays his welcome (which for many he has) then he won't be, but if his transition to Coop is done at the right point than there will be deserved melancholy about losing him.

I think that would be disappointing if everything was a dream.

Only if you view dreaming in a very literal sense, ala Dallas

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think Lynch is a very lonely and depressed individual and Dougie is basically Lynch. All these people around him who think he's great and suck up to him, but basically need him to do things for their own ends and have no real care for him at all. I again wanna point to the scene where he's on a d...

Hey folks! Dropping in quickly to say hello (don't worry, Metamorphia, you'll be rid of me again after this!) ;) So, the pace has improved somewhat and I've liked aspects of what I've seen this month, but I feel like I'm watching an assemble edit. There's so much glacially-paced material that scene...

Re: Part 12 - Let's rock (SPOILERS)

Is there a forum for people who actually like Twin Peaks: The Return? After Sunday night there is a pretty loyal crowd on Reddit. Given that the overall "score" of Sunday's episode is 5.8 (far lower than any other), and that the most-frequent one-word summaries of it include "boring,...
