Re: swansong

Yes.

I've been using the term "dropping the mic." Filming a 9+ hour movie and forever changing television (again) is a good way to go out.

Re: Halloween 2015 - Twin Peaks style

Thanks for the compliments. The Waiting Room garage idea came to me last October when S3 was announced. I wanted to do it this year, but when I started planning it, the cost/logistics became overwhelming. A frame to hang the curtains. . .curtains. . .flooring. . .strobe lights. . .ugh. My daughter h...

Re: Halloween 2015 - Twin Peaks style

My photography skills are lacking. It was much better in person. Got four comments that they recognized it from Twin Peaks, all teenagers. There is hope for humanity! One of them even passed the trivia test and identified it as Glastonberry Grove. I awarded her with "take as much candy as you w...

Halloween 2015 - Twin Peaks style

Who's doing Twin Peaks themed decorations/costumes/pumpkins this year? Post your pics!

At the last minute I decided to turn the front of my house into Glastonberry Grove. When the sun sets the red curtains will be lit and visible in the window. I'll post a night picture later.

Re: How will the new Twin Peaks be received?

My intuition tells me that the risks they're taking (monetarily, limited cult following from decades ago, etc.) is hinged upon Showtime being presented something so incredible as far as story and creativity that they decided (twice) it's worth their risk. Based upon that notion, if a product is that...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

Bowie as Jeffries showed up and doubled down on Cole's Blue Rose fixation. It added multiple layers of intrigue/mystery. Judy. The masked monkey called out her name. I felt this was a path Lynch wanted to follow with his ill-fated trilogy. The Missing Pieces version of the convenience store scene de...

Re: Cooper in season 3: good Coop or evil Coop?

I'm chiming in on this with the opinion that EVERYTHING Lynch filmed, whether deleted or not, is canon to Twin Peaks because he filmed it for a reason. It came from his imagining of what Twin Peaks is. That said, here I go: - Do you think the Cooper we meet in the new season will be the familiar Coo...

Re: Cooper's lost soul

Here's a question I've never quite asked, and don't know where to put, relating slightly back to the current discussion: What did BOB plan to do in that train car, if he truly wanted to take Laura for a host, and if killing Laura only happened once she put on the ring? Was he going to possess her a...

Re: 'The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks' new novel by M. Frost 2

Not to be depressing, but, maybe this delay is a good thing. It might give Mark Frost time to delve a bit deeper into the Log Lady's story, given her passing. Also, they might have to write out a couple characters in the book that they weren't planning on. Don't go there. All will be right. They'll...

Re: Where (and when and who) were you when you found TP?

Where? At the shared home of a friend of mine, in the living room, already fans of The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet and Dune, amazed that David Lynch was actually about to destroy his career and make yet another unwatchable crappy television show. Who Killed Laura Palmer? Probably Fonzie. Maybe he'll ...

Catherine Coulson's last filmed words as the Log Lady:

"It has been a pleasure speaking to you."

The pleasure was all ours.

Goddammit.

Re: Farewell, Catherine Coulson

When the first episode of Season 3 ends, the credits will roll, it will say "For Catherine" and I will cry like a damned baby. It's really sinking in, and I'm sick over it.
