Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Another observation. Why in the world didn't David Lynch read Cole's letter at the beginning? DL has a recording studio in his house. This would have been easy. I love DPK to death... but it would be much more exciting to dive back into TP with Lynch as Cole on the audiobook. But, alas... It's for ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

(that whole "bridging the gap between then and now" angle that has since disappeared completely) You can't really say it isn't bridging a gap if you don't know what season 3 is about. I think a whole lot of stuff in the book which is seemingly unconnected to the originals will tie in to S3.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Brad D wrote:I heard a nasty rumor that Dr. Jacoby had a different first name... any truth to that?

Nope still Lawrence, however: there is a Robert Jacoby who is his brother

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I indeed think that's very harsh. There's been a whole bunch of continuity errors throughout all the TP media we've had so far. Besides, it's just a work of fiction, not the constitution or something.

(disclaimer: it's just a metaphor, not politics)

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

To be honest, the only one from these discrepancies that truly bothers me, is the Ed/Nadine backstory. I love that scene from the series. Yes, also that episode is one of the very best, not to mention pure Lynch & Frost. So it would not make sense from a 'we want to change some boring post kill...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I wonder if Annie has just been retconned out entirely? No mention in the book and no Heather in S3. They'd be crazy to let that plot device slip entirely. Annie isn't like Nadine's last name or Norma's mother, Annie and Coop's story is really TP defining. What the cliffhanger at the ends towards t...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I've finished reading the book; out of respect for the author I'm going to refrain from discussing main plot points in public until it's been officially released. However, I will tell you three things : ⋅ There are three main direct inconsistencies with the show, which have all been broug...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Maybe BOBCOOP went back in time and had to mess with Norma's mother so that Annie would never be born, also while back there, he accidentally somehow managed to change Nadine's father's name and thereby her fate in a butterfly-effect-esque way. Nah... I'm not buying any alternate timeline stuff... ....

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

So who's gonna ask Frost? I might have tried if I was on twitter.

> Sid

I'm pretty sure, it also literally says Norma's dad died in 1978.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Nope sorry, Ilsa is her mother, I quote: Her mom came back to work at the diner afterward, and Norma loved working side by side with her --especially with Hank's long and frequent absences-- but Ilsa never got over losing Marty. The prospect of grandchildren helped sustain her, but Ilsa's health dec...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I've never heard of Norma's maiden name except for Lindstrom, which I read just today on the TP wiki

Anyone did?

Re: RE: Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

My best guess- Frost just wanted to re-write the history of some of the more minor characters to make them more interesting. Maybe he felt he had to do it to make a more compelling book that would stand on its own. I'll be really disappointed it he changed something like that just because he felt l...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

I'm wondering: is there a list with announced translations (and release dates)? I'm going to read it in English, but would love to have a Dutch translation as well.. Voorlopig geen Nederlands zo te zien.. With rights sold to various non-English speaking countries (Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland...
