Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Well, this may have been lost in the ep 16 thread, but here goes (courtesy of vicksvapor77): "Sabrina got back to me on the Cooper age issue. It definitely seems to be a simple continuity mistake (which I won't be telling her haha), which is further emphasized by the case file picture I posted...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

TR reminds me a bit of two other late career disappointments: EYES WIDE SHUT and the STAR WARS prequels. The former was sloppily edited, visually flat, uninterested in human emotion, and self consciously arty, but got a pass from some people who added some false depth to it by comparing it to Kubri...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Is there any way to salvage the original show after this? I don't want to think about Diane being raped or having awkward sex with Coop every time he brings out his tape recorder. I don't want to remember that all of seasons one and two get erased from existence because Coop inexplicably goes back ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

ok so Philip Jeffries is a teapot. The MFAP is a beehive looking thing on a Charlie Brown Christmas tree looking thing. Major Briggs is one of those Fatheads of himself. Bob is a membrane sphere of some sort. Why stop there? Whjy not make Pete Martell into a basketball? Make the old waiter into a te...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Just imagine - you make a work whose very point is to antagonise an audience. Then the audience showers you with praise, calling every episode genius. How would you feel about that? How would you feel if you spit in someone's face and their reaction wasn't to punch you as hard as possible but lick ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

To add to this, I wonder if Sheryl and the rest of the original cast had a sort of expectation as well. I mean, for them, they seemed just to be content to work with Lynch again and of course it's a pay check for them, but I am curious about how they feel about the final product. Do they feel as le...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm sore. Lynch and Frost just spent 18 weeks fucking me. The whole thing was a waste of my time. The whole thing was pointless. Unlike someone who showed up on this thread denying that this has been one of the worst seasons of television ever, I think it was. Given the talents involved, this is ab...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

So glad for this thread. I agree with so much I am reading and will be posting in the coming days as I need the cathartic release. I looked forward to this so much and am truly angry with Lynch. Anyway for this post all I wish to say is: in the early 90s I was so much into the X Files I began taking...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Before the final episodes, I planned on cheering myself up by doing a write-up of the few positives in The Return. I had some hope that I might be slighty more receptive to the earlier parts when a few plotlines were tied up. Then, on Sunday, everything in 1-16 was more or less rendered irrelevant....

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

anyone else find the Sarah face lift scene a bit cringeworthy? Seems TPTR is a bit scene good/scene bad/scene good/scene bad there was some of that in the original but that had so many writers and directors Frankly I was a Lynch fanatic going back to Eraserhead through Straight Story (20 years) and ...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

Regarding the Bowie voice dubbing, I have to ask why they'd bother to get someone to do a very solid mimicking of Bowie's original line if they were trying to have us acclimate to a new voice actor or something like that. I didn't notice it the first time. People mentioned it, and I went back and c...
