Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

There are lots of good and strong characters in TR - the Las Vegas material, the Buckhorn stuff. I like 'em. They're engaging for the most part. Like I said somewhere up this thread (I think) I was reasonably happy watching them, but the actual story was never that interesting (insurance fraud!) and...

If Diane's tulpa has been living out a life in the 'real world' in Diane's place, how/why did the real D end up in the purple world?

Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

Not a hanging plot point per se, but the whole Truman's wife situation. Their relationship is developed and you guess this will inform things down the road but, no. Similarly, you get an insight into Beverly's life which goes some way to explain her relationship with Ben. But it stops. It's not a lo...

I wonder if actors would be queuing up to appear in quite the same way, having seen how this panned out.

Season 4 - Cooper does stuff but in the last few scenes it appears he's flawed. Still.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Everything after Cooper leaves the motel was OK, although the cowboy fight was pretty sucky. Get rid of the previous 17.5 hours and there's an interesting TP short film here. TP:TR, where our out of sorts FBI agent takes a woman he thinks is Laura Palmer back home and finds it... different. You coul...

Of what?

Of seeing into Boop's milieu and finding out his motivations and the life he's been leading for 25 years.

The Otis and Buella scene really seemed like the start of something, didn't it? And it really wasn't.

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

Watched 16 with my wife last night. She wondered if Cooper was going back to 're-set' TP somehow. Could he create a happy Palmer family? Can Coop re-imagine the Horne family (inc. Richard) as well as the Jones' and Palmers?

Lynch - "We need this to happen. Can you guys do that?" SFX guy at computer clicks mouse. "Like this?" "Beautiful." "Y'know, that's just a built in effect that comes with the program. We could spend some time on it and let you see what we've done later." "...

Well, she's indicated she can't watch her own performances so perhaps is not so invested in the wider project.

Sure, I'm not implying she's clinically obese but her body type suggests they sought out her difference rather than just flicked through the casting book of generic skinny twenty something actresses. https://nypdecider.files.wordpress.com/2017/06/twin-peaks-dido1.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)

Note also that Senorita Dido is a 'bigger' lady (she shares a space with a giant, so is 'strange' by default) and Naido is not just blind, but has no eyes. Physical difference always carries meaning in TP.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The 'zombie' scene was supposed to be indicative of how out-of-sorts and strange the town had become in recent years but I don't see it TBH. You need more than that and a few visual glitches. If 119 woman had lived at the trailer park and maybe a couple of other scenes had been included then maybe, ...
