Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

Of course, the mathematician in me is now pondering the logical extreme of this: let's watch all the episodes simultaneously!

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

I skimmed the reddit thread and though "hmm, none of this looks persuasive to me", but you are making me think again!

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

Remember when Showtime said that "nothing about how this is released is going to be conventional", or something like that. I don't really see what that meant. They basically showed it every week except for skipping a few weeks, and they released some episodes together. Hardly ground-breaki...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

I must admit that I'm quietly hopeful. In any case, we are unlikely to ever get a definitive "no", so we can keep on hoping until it really becomes impossible.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I don't think he was idle for 25 years. My inference is that he was learning/plotting/liasing with the spirits in that time.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

A few days on, I'm (like many) still powerfully affected by the finale. It has restored the sense of unease in rewatching Twin Peaks which I had after my first viewing (i.e. knowing that a bleak ending was there). This was erased when S3 was announced, but of course it has merely replaced it with an...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

On waking this morning, I felt a simple reading of the finale that seems more simple than most of what has been posted here. What can Cooper do once he has resolved everything (part 17). He can't just retire. He has learnt a lot more about the structure of reality (and its many layers/levels) from h...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

17: Best thing I have ever seen, ever. 18: Lots to think about! It seemed like the first episode of Season 4 to me, which seems to be a popular interpretation round here. Really hoping that this means we'll get something else. I realised with about 20 mins left that nothing major was going to happen...

Re: Predictions - will Season 3 be the last Twin Peaks? (SPOILERS)

I for one am not sure how to approach the finale. If I knew it was the last TP ever, I'd be weeping for the whole thing and trying to hold on to every moment.

Perhaps not knowing if there is going to be more is a good thing ;-)

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Regarding electrocutoin, I was always told that "it's the volts that jolts, but the mills that kills" (mills= milliamps!). I see that some have complained that Cooper could simply have woken up earlier, what's the point, etc. My reading of this is that if he had somehow seen Sunset Bouleva...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

For me, the endless wait for episodes each week has given way to a desire not to have this over. I can't believe that within 8 days or so, the whole thing will be done. I even think it's time for a "Profoundly disappointed that TPTR is nearly over" thread. Thus, the fact that there are spo...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think it's at the stage now where if you don't like it, the ending is irrelevant. There are only a few episodes left, and the end might totally change the way that the rest of the episodes are viewed, but that would still mean that someone who didn't like everything so far would still hate most of...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Did my rewatch of 15 last night. Part of me now thinks that Cooper won't actually wake up. You can clearly see him just fall on the floor after electrocuting himself, so its not like he has passed through the socket or anything. I suspect this will just be another incident in his ongoing life and he...
