Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
Yeah, but they're a little frequent. Doesn't that mess with the flow in some way? I don't really know how it feels, I haven't done a "full watch", I really want to, though. Anyway, it definitely would be nice to be able to remove the beginning and end credits from all parts, except the ver...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
It's a bit of an unfortunate trend with BluRays. fellowship.png It's a shame there isn't some sort of option for credit-less viewing for S3, to smoothly transition between parts as if they were edited together. Lynch doesn't actually seem to want the final product to be watched as a film, despite ev...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
I just hope this forum doesn't go completely, any time soon. I'm not the most active poster, but I have to say, I love this place. There's been so much good content and discussion here, and especially leading up to The Return, it was something really special. Sharing in the growing excitement and an...

Sorry, but is there really a point in keeping to strict moderation on a practically dead forum? There's barely any activity as is. Off-topic discussion is better than no discussion, I would think. And there's not a whole lot of any kind of discussion, these days.

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
Yeah, basically Lynch doesn't need to recut anything because he already made exactly what he wanted to make, and it's complete. Re: Blade Runner, Ridley Scott did not originally have anything like full creative control, AFAIK. And the so-called Director's Cut is that in name only. I do think the Fin...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
Honestly, I've never understood the appeal of audio commentary. Especially on a Lynch film. But, to each their own, I guess. Behind-the-scenes footage, on the other hand, I'll take all I can get. I could watch Lynch working on set for days and not get bored. It's as educational as it is inspiring. T...

Re: Tarantino criticism
I was never a big fan, he's obviously a talented filmmaker, but to me his talent is wasted on his sensibilities which don't match mine at all. I have enjoyed parts of his work before, but my favorite movie "of his" is one he only wrote, True Romance(which, I suspect, he would've ruined, ha...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3
I love (very nearly all) the special effects and their aesthetic. Especially everything to do with the Lodge/the supernatural, which is what most of the discussion usually revolves around, as I understand. There was never any "adjustment period" for me either, I just thought they were very...

I bet Jacques Rivette would've liked it. He loved FWWM.

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
Thanks for the info. Well, her behavior is disappointing to say the least, but at least she didn't pull an MJA. That being said, if I could choose, I think I'd rather have had MJA in the show, in the apparently sizeable role he was supposed to have. I guess we'll never know what that would've been l...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
I wonder what her original role was, exactly.
Was she supposed to have Sylvia's scenes, or is that just a rumor? I'm not sure if I agree with her at all that what she got in the end was better.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
It doesn't look good at this point. I like the observation I read recently about the final shot of S3. Laura whispers in Coop's ear but we don't hear what she's saying, unlike S2 where they felt the need to add "My Father killed me." The final shot reclaims that mystery...into eternity it...

Yeah, he already said that like a year ago.

Re: Best home release?
Also, and this is very important, the US DVD is the only one that has perfect/correct English subtitles. I say that mainly because there is a key piece of Polish dialogue at the beginning of the film that isn't subtitled properly, or at least isn't the same as it is on the US DVD, or as it was in U...
