Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)

That's like saying there is no known connection between the Giant and the Fireman. The American Girl is Ronette - but she is shown in a place where her identity is hidden, or she has become an abstraction.

Re: Poll: Worst Roadhouse performance

Man oh man, this poll is ample proof that some Twin Peaks are quite conformist and tunnel-visioned in their viewpoints. Its just a handful of dimwits but Lissie has been voted for most why? Because her performance makes it obvious she is lip-syncing? Because its too pop-rock and kinda upbeat? Jeez L...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)

Lynch never watched Lost - unless someone here can prove otherwise.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I don't see it as a Back to the Future scenario though - I never saw Cooper step into a time machine DeLorean and travel back to 1989. The whole of season 3 was so anchored in the 'unreal' for want of a better term, maybe I mean 'dream-like.' Admittedly, I feel Lynch works best when there's a clear ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

As far as the songs, perhaps my main disappointment is that not one of them was created specifically for the show. It would have been nice to have had an original Badalamenti and/or Lynch composition, whoever performed it, or an original song from Lynch familiar Reznor. It just felt like a missed o...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline

It seems to me very blase to suggest that Lynch and Frost were amiss in their writing on s3 or sloppy. Isn't the question as to why certain plot elements are unclear or fuzzy? I found s3 overall to have quite a depressing tone to it - that's not something I really demand from tv or film as a viewer ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Where does this idea come from that a line Gordon Cole says has to represent something about Lynch as a filmmaker? He is playing a character in Season 3. What other lines in this are Lynch speaking to the audience through Cole? I can't remember others being cited. If there were other examples of thi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Another Blue Rose and Mr Strawberry - you're making lengthy posts but I don't know your reasons for not liking season 3. Can you be more specific please? If you tell us that the total lack of Cooper throughout the season was a big problem for you that makes perfect sense to me. I also found that to ...

Kyle MacLachlan sounding far less optimistic about more Twin Peaks

He’s been asked before if he thinks Lynch and Frost might do another season of “Twin Peaks,” and MacLachlan says his comments that it’s possible have been a bit overplayed. “I don’t think so,” MacLachlan says of the prospect of more “Twin Peaks.” “I kind of take the line of ‘never say never,’” he ad...

And yet you're still here ... You sound like a member of a gentlemen's private members club. Not at all. It's just that when someone continuously expresses such dislike-bordering-on-disgust with the thread in question (you've labelled it a "haven for misogynistic nastiness" just recently)...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

No I wasn't saying it doesn't matter. Serious criticism of a tv show or film is important. The fact that this nasty whole 'Support Group' thread is nothing of the sort but now just a haven for misogynistic nastiness tells me all I need to know! And yet you're still here ... Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

According to Audrey "sometime dreams hearken a truth" and inline with this I would like to add this paradox "the beginning of TPS3 was not the beginning of TPS3." I have this gut-feeling that understanding the "when, why and how" of Cooper meeting the Giant also would ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If people are going to be wholly disrespectful or negative towards Twin Peaks they should be quite able to overcome any viewpoints that come along in response. Even if I really didn't like season 3, I wouldn't make an avatar saying 'the TURD season' as I have too much respect for Lynch, Frost and c...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

They were not supposed to be a defeat of any kind to Gabriel, just a response. When there is such strong reaction to season 3 its bound to be responded to, right? Then why don't you use your own words if I may ask? Using those of others, mean comments from social media on top of that, maybe not the...
