Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Is there something else that we see in S3 that may explain a few things? It looks like it, we have this: Right Hand.jpg Left Hand.jpg The hand appearing in Sarah's face is actually Laura's from FWWM. Yes, indeed. And with a hypertrophied ring finger. Some people have identified the mysterious smile...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew

I think we are making too much out of nothing, or very little, in this case. If nothing else, that scene showed us Lynch is simply human. He was working on a large project with a huge responsibility, was probably concentrated, was not ready for a remark that maybe took him out of a train of thought,...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I like Mark’s idea in TSHoTP that the spirits can’t really be read as “good” or “bad” since their morals and goals are likely completely different from ours and beyond our comprehension. It may seem like the Fireman is interested in helping humanity, but I imagine that’s only because it benefits wh...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Yeah, I’m always one for questioning whether the Fireman’s motives are as pure as they seem. But I’m not sure I’d ever teased out this aspect of the show as well as you two have here. Hawk makes such a big deal in season 2 about how you have to confront your shadow self before achieving perfection....

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I've always questioned what is really going on in the entirety of the green glove sequence, including both Mr. C's and Bob's annihilation at the hands of people other than Cooper. Is the green glove sequence simply a way for Cooper to not have to engage with his shadow? That's what it feels like to...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Well, this time around Cooper met them. In FWWM, they were gone when he arrived iirc, and now he has met them face to face, so I guess the history did not really repeat itself. On the other hand, they were called Chalfonts in FWWM, and Alice Tremond said they acquired the property from Chalfonts, so...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Since it is the same model (and maybe even the very same car) driven by Mr. C, it would tie in to what I raised earlier about the car as a metaphor for the body. Cooper, or now Richard, as a psychological part of Cooper, a persona, or more a possibly integrated Cooper (Self) is now in control of Coo...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

After three years, I finally finish my first rewatch, and part 18 feels seemingly underwhelming, considering everything that went through, especially in the second half of part 17. Some observations: ⋅  The opening scene of S3 is actually taking place at the start of part 18; ⋅  ...

Re: Parts 3 & 4 - Call for help & ...brings back some memories (SPOILERS)

Something seemed odd about Dougie's vanity plate, I could not quite put my finger on it. No, it is not the sticker. LV stands for Las Vegas, but there is more, it is also a Roman numeral 55. In the periodic table of elements at that place we find Caesium, which is pale gold in color, just like Dougi...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

Mr. Reindeer wrote:They’re definitely not blank. On the Blu Ray, it’s very clear that the pages have typing on them, although it’s impossible to read them.

Sorry, I did not see the typing at all, I was watching this on TV and the stream compression must have kicked in. I should be getting my DVDs shortly.

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

I will need to rewatch this part for at least one thing in particular: there is a one brief shot of some machinery in a room at Fireman's place/palace. That looks interesting. I don't know if I've said it on the boards anywhere, but I consider this the single most important shot in the entire seaso...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

I think the “white squares” on the FBI monitors are the Dougie Jones file Headley just sent, coming in page by page. It did not look that way to me at for several reasons: ⋅  Those were plain squares, they did not assume any of the standard page sizes (e.g. Letter, Legal, A4, etc.); &sdot...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

Roadhouse in S3 has Chromatics playing "Shadow" as the opening act. And here we have Julee Cruise as the closing act with Chromatics playing in the shadows , an interesting parallel. As Lynch himself said it, who cares how long a scene takes, ergo we should have had 6 minutes of Julee ther...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Although, having just seen part 17, we should contrast the Jeffries' scene there to the first one. In part 17, I think Lynch made it clear that they are in the same room, this time around as there is just that one ceiling across the room. And there is no strobe light above, and no window with the cu...
