Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

Very interesting. Thanks for the information. EDIT: It seems that the info comes from this reddit post , and two linked articles (in Serbian). Yes I took It from Reddit but welcometotwinpeaks.com wrote about it too. http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/news/twin-peaks-season-4-years/ Lynch says: ''“Many t...

Re: The evolution of David Lynch and Twin Peaks (Spoilers)

one thing I thought about yesterday when watching a screening of the new IT movie was how brave David Lynch's direction in The Return really was. it takes lots of guts to follow your instinct and throw out so many conventional cinema tropes and do it your own way. IT was so conventional filmmaking ...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

It seems all the important parties have expressed an openness to the idea of continuing, and we can make a reasonable assumption that if discussions have begun, nothing will be even hinted at publicly until contracts are signed and there is an official announcement. Still, until then I'm processing ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think "The Return" ruined my life. Since the show is over I tried to watch different television shows and movies but I find it really hard to muster up any enthusiasm and interest for something other "Twin Peaks". Which is a shame because I regularly write reviews on...

The evolution of David Lynch and Twin Peaks (Spoilers)

Early on during the run of The Return, there was this idea expressed about a dichotomy between Twin Peaks fans and David Lynch fans. I was a bit baffled by that, being that I'm very much both. How can someone be a Twin Peaks fan and not be a Lynch fan? No way would Twin Peaks be something that peopl...

It's funny 'cause it's true.

It might be funny if he would give a crap. And he wouldn't.

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

Don't take it too personally man. Like you didn't jive with the new show, I don't jive with fans lamenting about how a show isn't what they wanted. I really couldn't be less interested in what fans want out of a work of fiction. I find no value in it. I have no patience with fans who say things like...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

The finale review of the Twin Peaks Podcast is up, and, as expected, they're mostly whining... Because we have criticism, it's whining. Alright. It's been kind of interesting to see the world of television podcasting try and grapple with something like TP:TR, since it so cut against the grain of tr...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

Has it been established whether Frost spent much time on the set and if he was involved in the editing process at all? I'm just wondering how much he knew about how the episodes were being put together. I'm assuming that he at least saw the finished products before they aired. Frost has said he did...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

It's been kind of interesting to see the world of television podcasting try and grapple with something like TP:TR, since it so cut against the grain of traditional response and analysis. Many of them seemed to be unable to acknowledge this disconnect and adapt. Not surprising with "The Twin Pea...

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

Well, to me the author is dead and so his opinion of his own work could be interesting but shouldn´t limit my own experience with a piece of art. And Sabrina Sutherland isn´t even the author, so it doesn´t really matter to me. I totally agree with this. But with regards to the "sync" theo...

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

Back to the incoherent drawing board! I know some people find that this sync theory helps them make sense of the finale, and if that's the case, I'd say run with it. Just because it wasn't intended to be watched this way doesn't mean that you can't make interpretations about the show based on the i...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

This discussion seems to illustrate the problems with the "auteur theory". Lynch is obviously the head creative with this project... he had final cut and had more roles than Frost. He directed the thing and oversaw production and post-production. Those were his jobs and not Frost's. There'...
