Re: TP:TR. Full 18-hour experience

Wow, I don't know if I can handle this. I've become less of a fan of binging in recent years as I've noticed that shows I watch weekly tend to have a bit more staying power. Episodes feel more distinct rather than blurring together. I tend to feel my focus waning by the time I get to the third or fo...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

I have mad respect for anyone that puts in the time to produce a podcast and take a look at Twin Peaks. It is a labor of love. The medium is not for everybody. I hardly listened to any other podcasts (or hung out here) during The Return because I wanted to keep my viewpoint my own. Listening to peo...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

The Tammy Preston character is interesting to look at if you are trying to parse out the differences between Frost and Lynch, if only because she was the one character featured fairly prominently in both TSHoTP and the new season. The book was written after the scripts were but most of us who read t...

Re: The little girl who lives down the lane (1976 film)

I was curious to check out the film too when I heard the reference. It's quite possible both that film and the TP lines are referencing the nursery rhyme "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep". Baa, baa, black sheep, Have you any wool? Yes, sir, yes, sir, Three bags full; One for the master, And one for ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

If there is going to be more I wouldn't expect an announcement for over a year. David Lynch and Mark Frost would be working in secret for a long time before even they would decide it would be worth it to come back.

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

I'd heard that someone on "25 years later" was doing recaps of all the podcasts, and I finally checked out the latest one. Holy crap, there's actually more Twin Peaks Podcasts I haven't heard about than ones I have, let alone listen to. He recapped 34 podcasts on the latest one (and that d...

I'm going to read Frost's next book, but I have to admit I might be looking forward to his promotional interviews more.

Re: Lynch sets record straight on Bowie dub

Bowie's accent was not authentic obviously, but it wasn't meant to be. I mean you don't hire David Bowie and ask him to speak in a Southern accent for authenticity. It's too bad he felt bad about it (if that was the case). I wonder if he thought hiring an actor from Louisiana would make it more auth...

Re: RIP Harry Dean Stanton

I was actually wrong about Carl Rodd being the last moments of his career, there's still one more movie that's in post production. Frank and Ava, about Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner.

I have a feeling that scene in Part 6 is going to resonate a lot more deeply the next time I watch it.

Those final moments with Carl Rodd were the end of an amazing career. RIP.

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

I still have reservations: If it happens I'd like to see a further season go in a different direction completely, facing a new mystery, and stop trying to rework old ground. I think the Laura-Cooper story is all but exhausted now. That said, I have adjusted my vote from 'unsure' to 'yes'. I would g...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

Actually it is, and the only people who get to define what Twin Peaks is is Mark Frost and David Lynch . Fans who try and claim higher authority then them are basically delusional. I think David Lynch would disagree with the underlined part. As to "fans trying to claim higher authority over Ly...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

Very interesting. Thanks for the information. EDIT: It seems that the info comes from this reddit post , and two linked articles (in Serbian). Yes I took It from Reddit but welcometotwinpeaks.com wrote about it too. http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/news/twin-peaks-season-4-years/ Lynch says: ''“Many t...

Re: The evolution of David Lynch and Twin Peaks (Spoilers)

one thing I thought about yesterday when watching a screening of the new IT movie was how brave David Lynch's direction in The Return really was. it takes lots of guts to follow your instinct and throw out so many conventional cinema tropes and do it your own way. IT was so conventional filmmaking ...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

It seems all the important parties have expressed an openness to the idea of continuing, and we can make a reasonable assumption that if discussions have begun, nothing will be even hinted at publicly until contracts are signed and there is an official announcement. Still, until then I'm processing ...
