Re: Sabrina Sutherland Reddit AMA on Sun., Sep 10 @ 3PM PT

Strange to be so secretive over who voiced the gumtree / EoTA. Was it perhaps requested by the actor to remain not only uncredited in the series but also in subsequent post-broadcast materials? This is a very shy boy, Will. And she now just said "That is a fair assumption" to someone who ...

Re: Sabrina Sutherland Reddit AMA on Sun., Sep 10 @ 3PM PT

Interesting confirmation that the story about frogmoths in the Quinoa video was indeed the origin of the frogmoth in part 8.

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

Sabrina Sutherland on her Reddit AMA when asked if part 17 and 18 were meant to be played concurrently:

This is definitely not the way to watch these parts.

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?

I'm not really ready to make a call on this. At the moment I feel the highs are slightly higher with the original, the lows are WAAAAAAY lower, but The Return is more consistently engaging and fascinating. I think in a few years The Return will be what I more frequently re-watch.

Re: Lynch or Frost interviews re Season 3?

Frost I would guess would do some interviews to promote The Final Dossier and will probably not be dodging questions about the series. Though he may be dodging those about his own book - if it'll contain as much inconsistencies as the previous one did, that is. Ya know, he'll be givin' the kinda an...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

The fact that he took a well-paying gig doesn't mean he's super passionate about the subject matter, and I've never seen him express any interest in superheroes or comic books. I'm pointing this out more for the amusing timing than to refute your point, but an hour ago Frost referenced The Joker an...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

I'm also not seeing a connection between Mark Frost's comic book screenplay and Freddie. Freddie seems like a parody of comic book tropes, one of a series of choices that seemed interested in subverting expectations... in this case the expectation of a big showdown or battle between the good forces ...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

This is an interesting thing to think about. I have to assume that a lot of the creative choices in TP:TR that cut so against the grain of conventional wisdom when it comes to constructing stories for television or in general came from Lynch, and I have wondered how much Frost embraced that. Some ti...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Rialto, you are pulling things out of a simple question that aren't there. It's a genuine question because most Star Wars fans seem perfectly happy with how things have unfolded with that franchise (maybe the recent spate of firings have caused alarm).

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Question for the profoundly disappointed: Would you have preferred an alternate scenario for the revival that was more akin to the current iteration of the Star Wars franchise, where a media company basically purchases the rights to the franchise and hires filmmakers who were fans of the original to...

Good call on the final Sarah scene. I agree it was the scariest scene in the Return.

Re: Sabrina Sutherland Reddit AMA on Sun., Sep 10 @ 3PM PT

Is that a guess or confirmation? If it's a guess it's a good one, but one of the Twin Peaks Unwrapped guys is going around saying Francesca Eastwood who played the Odessa waitress doubled as her, which I'm fairly certain is incorrect (a bad guess). I'd like to hear someone involved with the producti...

Re: From an artistic standpoint, why was The Return needed at all?

I actually liked some S3 episodes, but the ending is... "Cooper altered the timeline" (or tried to alter it, or did try it in a dream.. whatever exactly happened, the time travel part was certainly there) Stuff like that belongs in a Star Trek episode or a Back to the Future sequel. No ma...

Re: Season 3 Ended On A Positive Note (Spoilers)

Whether the season ended on a positive note or negative note is not some objective thing that you figure out by intellectualizing it. It's the feeling you have, the experience you have viewing it (which has always been key to appreciating Lynch's films). And it's totally subjective. If the OP "...
