Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Question for the profoundly disappointed: Would you have preferred an alternate scenario for the revival that was more akin to the current iteration of the Star Wars franchise, where a media company basically purchases the rights to the franchise and hires filmmakers who were fans of the original to...

Re: Creepiest/scariest scene(s) [Spoilers]

Good call on the final Sarah scene. I agree it was the scariest scene in the Return.

Re: Sabrina Sutherland Reddit AMA on Sun., Sep 10 @ 3PM PT

Is that a guess or confirmation? If it's a guess it's a good one, but one of the Twin Peaks Unwrapped guys is going around saying Francesca Eastwood who played the Odessa waitress doubled as her, which I'm fairly certain is incorrect (a bad guess). I'd like to hear someone involved with the producti...

Re: From an artistic standpoint, why was The Return needed at all?

I actually liked some S3 episodes, but the ending is... "Cooper altered the timeline" (or tried to alter it, or did try it in a dream.. whatever exactly happened, the time travel part was certainly there) Stuff like that belongs in a Star Trek episode or a Back to the Future sequel. No ma...

Re: Season 3 Ended On A Positive Note (Spoilers)

Whether the season ended on a positive note or negative note is not some objective thing that you figure out by intellectualizing it. It's the feeling you have, the experience you have viewing it (which has always been key to appreciating Lynch's films). And it's totally subjective. If the OP "...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I don't want to think of the finale as a cliffhanger and want to come to terms with it as the end, but my mind keeps wandering to the fertile ground left for this story to continue. Hell more Sheryl Lee alone would be worth it. And of course there's the unresolved stories from both this season and t...

I'm definitely going to try and get on there and ask her about how they did the young Laura scenes in 17 and 18. I hope someone drops that question to her.

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks

It took until the finale but we finally got a clue why there were so many intentional discrepancies in the dossier. Not sure what the implication is. Is the dossier from the world of Richard, Linda and Carrie? Laura still dies but one of the discrepancies was her age at death. I can't recall if the ...

Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

I am deeply and personally traumatized by not knowing what the owls are. You told us twenty seven years ago what they aren't, how about a clue what they ARE. There was one owl in the entire show and it was in fuckin' Las Vegas! There aren't even owls in Las Vegas! Fuck you Lynch! By what right do yo...

Re: From an artistic standpoint, why was The Return needed at all?

I've heard this comment before, there was a podcast guest who questioned the "necessity" of The Return, and to that I ask, how does one gauge how "necessary" or "needed" a work of art is? What's an example of a "needed" television show or film? Was the origina...

Re: Creepiest/scariest scene(s) [Spoilers]

Actually, one of my biggest issues with TR is that I can't think of a single scene that comes close to the original series or FWWM in terms of creepiness. Yes, there were some creepy moments, but nothing that scared the bejesus out of me like Ronette's nightmare with BOB, Maddy's murder scene, BOB ...

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

All those people complaining that they've been victimized by David Lynch and Mark Frost might be surprised to learn that the real perpetrator can be found in a mirror. I hope it's not Bob.

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

People consistently mistake their interpretations of David Lynch's work as literal representations that all people should see the same way, which just feels like a mistake no one who has any familiarity with Lynch should be making. Remember how people were running with the idea that Bob had somehow ...

Re: The visual aesthetic of the new Twin Peaks

I definitely wasn't enthusiastic about how digital the cinematography often looked. I kept rechecking to make sure the awful "trumotion" feature on my television was still off. Eventually I discovered it looked a little less harsh on some of the different apps I was using (I watched throug...

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

Good Lord, Lynch did not declare TP as a dream. I guess the internet must have just discovered David Lynch, so maybe these kinds of thoughts shouldn't surprise me.
