True crime author Ann Rule and Twin Peaks

I've read a good number of her books. She writes a good deal about serial killers as well as solved cold cases. In many of her books, she mentions the town of snolqualmie, where many scenes in twin peaks were filmed. I always hope to read a mention of twin peaks in her books, but I've never come acr...

Unwanted & unloved Xmas gifts

Anyone receive gifts they didn't care for? I did. But, overall, the gifts I'd gotten were items I'd wanted. I generally ask for food items. My friends and I will make gag gifts to one another of unwanted gifts in many cases, so getting unwanted gifts can be a source of great amusement when given to ...

Re: Occupy wall street

Thanks, BrAd! I think many people are confused lately as to what the real thrust of this movement is. I thought it was about the abuses of wall street ect, but it seems that many interest groups have thrown their collective hats in the ring. It's kind of morphed, if you will, from a protest against ...

Occupy wall street

Well, it kinda happened here in my city, Springfield, mass. I'd originally had gone down to participate in a weekly Monday noontime peace vigil, but some of the members wanted to attend an occupy wall street rally. So I went along, too. I stayed at the rally for an hour, but did not shout slogans li...

Desparate housewives: Kyle McLaughlin

I've been renting this series from netflix. It's just hilarious. Anyhoo, I know that Kyle McLaughlin has a role in it at some point. I've watched up to season 2, DVD 2. So far, i haven't seen Kyle. I've seen, however, a number of cameos doing their star turns, for example, bob Newhart. I'm wondering...

Re: Obsessed with cellphones

Smilsoid: again, I agree. When I wait to transfer buses at our city's lovely depot( read: sordid and ghetto), so many people seem to be truly addicted to their cells. There's even a skateboarder on my street who listens to either his iPod or smartphone whilst skateboarding. Now, that's a recipe for ...

Re: Obsessed with cellphones

Smillsoid: you make an excellent point; I couldn't have put it any better. Silent: well, I understand what you mean: I often feel ackward if I'm idle in certain situations, so having something to 'do' is a good idea. For example, if I eat out Alone, I feel sooo self conscious that I'll bring reading...

Obsessed with cellphones

Argh, I hate it when friends visit with you, but chat frequently on their cells. Most of my friends don't do this, no do I. Personally, I like to be alone when chatting on my phone. When with friends, I want to be engaged with them. Anyway, a friend did this around me last week. I was so surprised a...

Re: Gilmore girls

Have watched nearly all the gg episodes now. Am on the next to last DVD and I'll miss the show and all its characters. I'd also recently seen 'ben horne' in season 7.

Wild that quite a number of tp alumni has had roles on gg. Sherilyn fenn had a number of appearances. She played in two roles.

Rare tornado puts Springfield, Massachusetts on the map

A tornado touched down in my city Wednesday afternoon! I was sitting on the front porch and had seen a huge swirling cloud of debris, which was actually downtown Springfield, mass, which is half a mile from my street. Then I heard a jet engine noise, and I'd thought it was a jet plane. I decided to ...

Lol, you've got it.

Also, one of the characters, Kirk, made a film noire; kinda reminded me of David lynch's ' lost highway'.

Gilmore girls

Been watching a number of episodes of this series, which I'm renting via netflix. Leslie Linka glatter had produced a few of them. As well, madchen amik appeared in one of the episodes in a significant role. The show is kinda quirky a la twin peaks...only on speed, lol. I'm wondering if anyone else ...
