Ok...I have no idea what this is supposed to be in reference to. Anybody else have a clue?

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks
Something else that really qualifies as more of a common misconception than an inconsistency but, given Frost's superb handling of history in other places, it at least stood out to me. On page 21, Frost writes, “ These theories suggest that there were two esoteric organizations vying for future cont...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Good morrow, good people! Long time lurker, first time poster. Twin Peaks Fan from the first hour. I live and breathe it. Okay, enough about me. I've read the book twice now and am pretty far in solving the ENTIRE thing. (Yes, Gordon would be proud.) I'll tell more as time progresses, but I want to...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Stealthiscorn, Thanks for the bunch of insights, pretty well written as well! :)Fwiw, there's a typical bohemian surname called Novak/Nowak, therefore I suppose it's not a clever pun aimed at Novocain, but dodgy american spelling of a middle-european name (this often happened during migration back ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
It's funny. On page 220, Josie’s autopsy report notes that her body inexplicably weighed at least 25 pounds less than it should. You will remember from the original series that her body was stated to have only weighed 75 pounds at the time of her death. I've joked before about the Great Northern nig...

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks
Didn't see these mentioned specifically in this thread yet so here's a few more (apologies for any accidental redundancies). On page 179, the Twin Peaks high school football team is referred to as “the Lumberjacks”. The Twin Peaks high school football team had previously been established as “the Ste...

Re: POLL: Predict BOB for S3 [Book spoilers permitted]
Just want to specify, that, in an interview Mark Frost gave after S3 was originally announced (https://tvline.com/2014/10/06/twin-peaks-showtime-cast-new-episodes-spoilers/), the language he used implies to me that he and Lynch have thought up some sort of story solution to handle the BOB question. ...

Re: Does Anyone Dislike Episode 29?
How can you say Windom Earle is some sort of redundant aspect of the episode, when he was, bar Cooper, the most important element that led to the Black Lodge?! Moreover, it's not like the episode took its sweet time to wrap up his storyline (not that I'm complaining - I think his undoing at the han...

Re: Does Anyone Dislike Episode 29?
While I absolutely love all the Lynchian Red Room stuff, I think the episode does have its weaknesses to be honest. Mostly, I think parts of it get dragged down because it's saddled with weaker plot elements from late that season which had to be integrated and wrapped up somehow. References to King ...

Re: RE: Re: Mark Frost & Fire Walk With Me
But when I see the fan-edit, I really feel Lynch's purpose (Which seems a bit cynic or even comic). I feel those scenes reveal how disconnected those citizens were from the Laura Palmer drama that was taking place almost before their eyes and that would eventually shock them some days later. Which ...

Re: The Supernatural, Silva and the Season 2 Problem
StealThisCorn...You also have maybe the best screenname on the forum. Ha thanks! Killer BOB meets Abbie Hoffman. We have to agree to disagree on the "charm" of the later S2 stumbles. On my 2nd viewing last year, at least, they were hard to get through, even when I was prepared by my inten...

Re: The Supernatural, Silva and the Season 2 Problem
No, mid to late Season 2 definitely has its own sort of charm. And as a first time viewer, the bizarre non-sequitur side plots can be fascinating because you have the sense that though yoy have no idea what is going on, somehow they are all going to fit together and pay off somehow. It isn't until t...

Re: The Supernatural, Silva and the Season 2 Problem
I think the point of this thread (or rather the controversial element perhaps), is Eater's opinion that the show's decline started much earlier in Season 2 than most fans on these boards usually consider. Basically, right after the Season 2 premiere. And this is when viewership really began steadily...

Re: The Supernatural, Silva and the Season 2 Problem
Although I personally find the piecemeal mythology which emerged in Twin Peaks to be one of the most fascinating elements of the property that elevates it above most conventional and genre media for me(barring some eye-roll inducing missteps involving Windom Earle and Project Bluebook post-Leland Se...

Re: Marc Dolan - The Peaks and Valleys of Serial Creativity: What Happened to/on Twin Peaks
I haven't read this piece yet, but I do think the supernatural is there in S1 if you think about it. Examples include references to Sarah Palmer having visions, her and Cooper both seeing the same menacing figure of BOB, Cooper dreaming the exact physical characteristics of Philip Gerard/MIKE before...
