Re: Music, Music, Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Nothing's Changed" by Chris Isaak-- This song tears my heart out. I literally have tears well up in my eyes sometimes while listening to it. Hard to articulate why, I can't put my finger on it. "I Can't Tell You Why" by Eagles-- Same as above, again, I can't articulate why. I gu...

I think that was a pretty safe bet.

Despite Sherilyn's flaws and regardless of how unlikely it is that Audrey survived that bank blast, it was almost essential for me to see her again in some way or another.

Re: "Moving Through Time" - usage in FWWM

Great point about DMW being fresh during Episode 29. It absolutely is, yet so in tune with the series, and in particular that episode, that it isn't obviously different-- if that makes any sense. Alien, yet familiar...'Lynch-ian'.

Re: "Moving Through Time" - usage in FWWM

This and Dark Mood Woods are simply remarkable. I have to remind myself periodically not to over-indulge, so that I don't grow numb to these songs and ruin them-- as I've done to so many in the past.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Expand on this please... INLAND EMPIRE is a very spiritual and HOPE-Full film... Indeed. It's a film with one of his happiest endings - 2 lost spirits helping each other escape purgatory. It's beautiful. Mulholland Drive is a deeply sorrowful story, but Inland Empire ends with Sue reaching some kin...

Thomas Ligotti

Are there any Ligotti devotees here? Although different voices, what draws me to Ligotti is the same thing that draws me to Lynch. Besides the fact that he is a masterful writer, he dabbles in that same weird area between reality and something not quite real. A destabilization of the psyche. The mun...

Re: What are your favorite films (not including Lynch)?

Chinatown
Barry Lyndon
The Crying Game
No Country For Old Men
Breaking The Waves
The Shining
Gummo

My favorites list seems less interesting when Mulholland Dr and Blue Velvet are missing.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I always enjoyed the small differences between the pilot Cooper and the series Cooper. If we take Deer Meadow as an example, the FBI wasn't welcome in many places. Cooper arrives in Twin Peaks and tries to establish himself as an authoritative figure. As the series progress, he gets to know the tow...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think the score itself did. I think the opening theme was about as predictable as predictable can be. Anyway, don't know why I'm rambling on about other opening sequences, as the topic at hand is Twin Peaks. I could be wrong, but I get the feeling people are going way overboard with their predict...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I like the opening of True Detective and don't think the song is hillbilly at all. Captured the feel of those Louisiana landscapes quite nicely. I think the score itself did. I think the opening theme was about as predictable as predictable can be. Anyway, don't know why I'm rambling on about other...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

However, they served an important role in the original series by helping transport us into that world and I think they'd be there this time to function in the same way. I predict that there will be an opening credit sequence of some type and that it will serve a purpose, unlike the overwrought and ...
