Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Although I didn't have any particular expectations of the series, I kinda hoped we would get something slow and meditative, something that acknowledged the passing of time. Essentially, I suppose I wanted the series to tell me something about myself and at this stage one scene of Big Ed moping doesn...

This is good stuff but it is the wrong thread - especially so when there's a whole 'nother thread just sitting there.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
FWIW, you can see from the Peaks fests and all the Etsy fan art and so on that TP has had a significant female audience for a long time.

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
Lynch-ian imagery and tropes aside, the Ike The Spike murders struck me a particularly unnecessary. Did either of his victims have any lines, or were they just two more mute women? (The 'target' particularly seemed like a potentially interesting character but we're told nothing about her, and are on...

Re: RE: Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Which brings me obliquely to douglasb, and some questions for him: why do you think so many older women in The Return are presented as vicious ballbusters? And what do you make of this particular feature of the show, especially in the current political climate you allude to? Do you find it at all r...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)
Quite a few people got frustrated at the lack of concern about Dougie's demeanour by family and colleagues. They noticed something was odd, but didn't react in a realistic manner. Notice then that no-one makes mention of the fact that Naido has no eyes, whereas I think that would freak most people o...

Re: RE: Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)
His instagram account is private now, too. I don't know why they would make such a big deal out of his revelation, though. It wasn't really a revelation, more of a confirmation. He was credited in the episode as "voice", Jeffries was the only logical role he could have voiced (and it was ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
There's a lot of conflict going on - I scratch my head at Green Glove Guy and yet in the very same scene James Marshall is knocking it out the park. It's odd, I like much of the old school TP stuff in S3, and I like most of the new characters but there's something stopping me from properly enjoying ...

Because Belucci came with French money attached.
It's odd - TP used to be its own reality. Now we're asked to accept it's our reality.

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)
If they bothered to re-do the Bowie line, I don't know who that was supposed to be on the phone to BadCoop, because it didn't sound like someone doing a DB impersonation. Now, I know there is some confusion about who it actually is - even BadCoop is uncertain - but it was Jeffries, right?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
The Sarah scene was a bit schlock-y. She exposes her supernatural capacity in the middle of a reasonably busy bar? Presumably there's going to be some kind of police engagement? Sarah is taken in for questioning, giving her access to Naido maybe?
