That's exactly what it is (except it's cinema which is obviously superior to literature). And thank god for it.Gabriel wrote:TPTR feels like a novel where the author had no editorial oversight.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17
just finished the extra's. Great insights and just that is a purchase worth it. One thing baffles me as long time DL fan who followed his carreer since BV. DL seemed incredibly stressed making the series and even wonder he enjoyed it at all? Also the way he directed the actors contradicted the stor...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3
wonderful French director Bertrand Bonello is a big Lynch fan and has been a big Return advocate. This is in French but I'll link anyway: http://next.liberation.fr/images/2017/09/08/dans-twin-peaks-il-y-a-un-geste-amoureux-de-la-part-de-lynch_1595046 a couple of translated excerpts: https://pbs.twim...

Frost makes a few brief (mostly silent) appearances in the Beymer docs and the Lauzirika one. I get the sense that most of his time on set was in Washington, and not so much in LA, the latter of which is where 90% of the BTS footage was taken.

Amazon now says it will arrive Thursday the 14th for me. I also pre-ordered immediately but then cancelled and re-ordered on Monday when I saw that it hadn't shipped, just like with the Secret History (except it didn't work this time, obviously).

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17
For what it's worth, I went through three different Amazon representatives to try and get a handle on when they estimate they'll have more in stock. I was told, "The soonest we will be able to ship this is January 8." Does that sound crazy to you all? I hope to God she was wrong because n...

Re: What Did Laura Whisper?
What I'd like to know, or what I would ask Sheryl if given the chance, is not what did she actually say (because they'll never tell us), but more just what the circumstances were. Like, did she actually say anything? Was it a line given to her on set by Lynch (this is my guess), or was it actually i...

Not sure how much more "confirmation" you need. Did you read the story?

Ugh. This was the first thing I'd ever seen him in and I really fell in love with him/the character. Why is everything shitty.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I just have to say at this point that I thought TP:TR was crap, but I have absolutely no idea what AnotherBlueRoseCase is on about. It would seem you have made your own interpretation of the show and now are holding others accountable for it. This is pretty much at the same level of reasonable as w...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
"Consensual reality". I have no idea what that is, but as long it's consensual I suppose it's okay. Anyway, I'll just quote myself from a few pages ago Filmmakers having recurring themes or concerns or aesthetic motifs is not the same thing as "nostalgia for their own careers" Th...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I read that thread and nearly every single example is not a "reference to Lynch's work", it's either a major stretch or just someone saying "Hey, it was probably unintentional, but this kinda reminded me of this." The fact that you wield that thread as some kind of hammer of empi...
