Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

I'm sure this has been covered but it's virtually impossible to keep tabs on this discussion anymore...

How the HELL did we figure out there was going to be an A-bomb explosion a year ago?! I can't remember, and that def didn't look like some easily-observable location shoot.

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

Why do you think they picked an Abraham Lincoln impersonator to play the main Woodsman? It has to be intentional, right? I mean, the guy has only played Abe Lincoln in all his credited roles until Twin Peaks. Can't imagine that Johanna Ray randomly discovered him, unless she was specifically lookin...

Well then she aged quite a bit in 33 years!!

(fwiw, the actress who plays Mrs. Tremond was 37 years old in August 1956)

The bug was hatched from an egg vomited out by Mother/Expeierment years earlier that landed in the desert.

Looks like she spewed up lots of eggs, along w/Bob

Are you assuming this because the egg was not gold?

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

I don't think the poor kids were either Leland or Sarah; for one thing, Leland was not Hispanic. Definitely don't think that was Leland. However, it definitely occurred to me that the girl was Sarah. She's the right age though admittedly her hair looks different. I didn't take this to be Sarah phys...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

-The starchild Laura stuff I'm not so sure about. Meh. Middle class white girl as the saviour of all goodness in the world? Eh.... Seems a bit overwrought. Pretty funny that these cosmic beings had her high school prom photo... Well sure, but also a confused-as-hell self-loathing, deeply depressed ...

My response to part 8: http://www.lostinthemovies.com/2017/06/ ... light.html

I loved this, I mean God how could I not. Surprisingly, given how unique and unexpected it was, a lot of comparisons came to mind.

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

Notice that the bug girl looks like Nadine (and wears a similar dress) and a woman working at a diner and a mechanic are the 3 shown falling asleep to the broadcast. Possible Nadine, Ed, Norma connection. Interesting! Is the place Twin Peaks in the 1950's? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk One ide...

Re: The timeline of the key passage from Laura's diary (SPOILERS)

At the end of FWWM Leland/BOB shows pages from Laura's diary to her (in the train scene where she gets killed) saying something along the lines " I thought you knew it was me/ I thought you didn't know it was me) Does anyone know where those pages are from? Because if they were from the diary ...

Re: The timeline of the key passage from Laura's diary

Also, even if people try to find a way to rationalize the Annie pages being missing, we're also shown Laura's entry presumably written the night before she was killed ("I know it wasn't Bob"). So they seem to be forgetting Leland ripped the pages out a week earlier. Best to just think she...

Joel, you linked to your review of the previous part. Here's the part 7 link, but I noticed that in the url it's called part 6: m Whoops, thanks, just fixed the link in my post. As for "part-6" in the link, that's how the piece was accidentally published, at which point I didn't want to r...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

My response to this episode: m. I think this is probably my favorite so far. I've already watched it twice, and I feel like it has the best mix of elements, plus so many high points. I didn't mention Tammy Preston, but her whole bizarre shtick grew on me a bit more this time mostly because the show ...

Finally getting around to linking my response to part 6 - http://www.lostinthemovies.com/2017/06/ ... t-die.html. I spent a lot of time discussing the weird effect the accident had on me. Watched it a second time later and still not totally sure what to make of it.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Of all Lynch's works so far, only Inland Empire had this kind of problem, and I do believe that Inland Empire has serious narrative flaws, which are saved by Laura Dern's HUGE performance - she creates something really big there and wraps all loose ends around it. I dunno, structurally I feel The R...
