Re: Sparks video directed by Lynch?

Many thanks for the info. I wonder if this is Lynch's earliest pop video. (Incidentally the lead singer is Russell. Ron is the keyboard player/ strip-teaser with the Hitler moustache!) What is the source of your information? I've only seen the Lynch connection mentioned in the Sparks book "No. ...

Sparks video directed by Lynch?

I've just finished reading a book about the band Sparks and it says that the video for their song "I Predict" was directed by David Lynch. I don't recall seeing this mentioned in any of my Lynch books. Does anyone know for sure whether he directed it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lTVohh...

Re: Valley House or Smithy's House?

Here's what Lynch says in Lynch One: "...in comes Jeremy and Freddy and the scene proceeds. Four chairs around that table, reading the script, talking, and then Freddy notices somebody in Smithy's house in the set. And Devon goes quickly to investigate. Now he goes and he investigates but there...

Re: LYNCH (one) US DVD Release Available Now

Lynch One confirmed the impression I got from Lynch Two that either he's got a lot grumpier with age or previous documentaries about him have been rather sanitised. If this is what he's like after diving into the "ocean of bliss" twice a day I dread to think what he'd be like without TM!

Valley House or Smithy's House?

I've been watching Lynch One and was puzzled by his reference to the house that a terrified Laura Dern enters as "the Valley House". I thought it was Smithy's House. Are there two houses in there?

Re: Grand Unified Theory?

As to Lost Highway : it is my least fave DL movie and if there is a GUT, it's buried way too deep in what I consider crap to dig for.( I've seen the thing about five times; it just does not engage me.) Surely the basic plot of Lost Highway is fairly straightforward and very similar to Mulholland Dr...

Grand Unified Theory?

I'm very impressed by the detailed theorising about IE that's been posted on this forum. I was wondering if there is any kind of consensus emerging. Clearly lots of fine details can be discussed endlessly but can you experts agree on any kind of rough plot? My own feeling is that Lynch constructed t...

Re: New David Lynch DVD Box - the Lime Green Set

I must admit I've never heard of The Ballad Of The Broken Hearted.
Can you give any more details about it?

Re: David Lynch vs. Werner herzog

Interesting point, but I think that both directors have shown in their work (rather than their philosophy) that they are equally fascinated by the dark, sinister, strange and surreal aspects of life.

Re: Revive WIP

Off the top of my head the only original Twin Peaks analysis I remember reading in Wrapped In Plastic was the Deer Meadow dream theory. How many fan theories are totally original? As far as I remember the WIP editors analysed every episode and FWWM in great detail. Are you really saying there was n...

Re: Revive WIP

And finally the world's changed since Wrapped In Plastic began. There's so much information online nowadays and while the bulk of it consists of rumours, press releases, poor quality stills and bitching we can at least get news instantly via sites like Dugpa instead of reading about it four months ...

Re: Catching the Big Fish - the Documentary

To be honest I'm rather disappointed by this news. I'd much rather Lynch made another movie. In the world of fiction he's a master but when it comes to the real world he lacks the required tools of sceptical or critical thinking.

MTTH begins with two acts that take place between Sue and her husband, then after that there is an act in some kind of temple with a long dialog between Karolina Guszka and Krzysztof Majchrzak about whether or not she should buy one of his lucky watches. I don`t know this scene. It's not in the fil...

The floating arm is still bugging me. I've re-watched Meshes of the Afternoon, At Land, Orphee, Blood of a Poet and The Testament of Orphee and it doesn't come from any of them. I'm thinking maybe a Bunuel film or possibly a Mario Bava. (I suppose most people know of the similarity between the scene...
