Re: Thoughts on 'The Autobiography of F.B.I Special Agent Dale C

Based on Room to Dream, I suspect the bird-shooting incident may have come from DKL. He tells a similar anecdote in RtD about casually firing at a bird figuring he would never hit it and hitting it dead center, and on the audiobook he comes across as a little disturbed at the realization that perhap...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

5) I didn't get the Lucy mobile phones thing before, but I think I get it now. She understands cell phones because there are literally two versions of the same person with each phone. Before, she couldn't work out how one person could be in two places at the same time. I think the cell phone thing ...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

These are great thoughts! I always felt in time travel narratives there was something far, far too human-consciousness-centric about it ... what about atoms, that table over there, a salt grain, a little bug. Geez! This is why I find stuff like Nadine being predestined to lose her eye in various ti...

Re: FWWM sequels

According to Room to Dream, Ronnie Rocket was initially intended to be the first film on DKL’s three-picture deal with Ciby-2000. DKL ultimately decided to do FWWM instead, then Francis Bouygues passed away. They made LH as number 2, and then they tried to renege on the contract, leading to the law...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

I’m starting to like the idea that Dale “broke” reality/time, and that the universe is just constantly shifting and changing without rhyme or reason throughout the two books. As you note, the books are too all-over-the-place for a binary “two universes” approach to even begin to make sense of the in...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

I think so. She was mentioned in the Dossier as murdered ... and anything written in the Dossier, outside of Laura being referred to as murdered (by Briggs and Preston), is actually taking place in the new "official" timeline. So Teresa should still be dead, as well the saps Windom killed...

Oh yes, I forgot about that W Magazine feature! Interesting that she participated in a magazine feature commemorating her work with DKL but declined to be interviewed for his book.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group

* Enough has been written elsewhere online about directors doing to horrible things to female actresses to get an authentic performance, even though male actors aren’t expected to truly break bones or suffer flesh wounds, so I won’t repeat them here, but what Isabella did out of trust and love- doi...

Re: Lynch to release memior 'Room To Dream: A Life In Art'.

If you have the chance, make sure to listen to the audiobook too. All of the Kristine McKenna sections are basically verbatim, but Lynch tells some stories that aren’t in the book and some of the stories in the book get more elaboration and sometimes don’t exactly match up with the written recollec...

Re: Theories & Speculation

I personally believe that "The Return" is hugely significant to interpreting what is going on. So much about that moniker fits and can be interpreted from the ground up. Is it a fact that Lynch/Frost had zero to do with that? Regardless of what's been said, I doubt that is totally true if...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

There probably should be factors that would help in speeding up the process such as characters and concepts already being fleshed out, the world of Twin Peaks still fresh in their minds, etc. It doesn't seem likely the leap from s3 to 4 would be as big as originals > s3. I definitely don’t disagree...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Well, whether or not you agree with their methods, my main point was that by all accoints (including Emily Lynch’s), it took them a ton of man hours before arriving at a script they were satisfied with. Maybe we could expect a somewhat quicker turnaround this time (or a shorter season), but I defini...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I think people need to realize that this “pre-hype hype” trend is not L/F’s style. Lately every big movie/show seems to have a teaser trailer for the teaser trailer. But when TP:TR happened, L/F just dropped the bombshell on us via Twitter with no fanfare. They’re not the type to say “I have big ne...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Fair, but the gum tweets were a (relatively) unambiguous announcement that we all understood, a more fun and exciting way of giving the fans advance notice before the more straightforward corporate announcement. Sort of like DKL announcing IE to his website subscribers a day before the announcement ...
