Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

It might be titled "The Return" for marketing reasons or because Lynch likes the expression, This seems very likely to me. Just as DKL insisted on calling the "definitive" DVD set "The Gold Box," which outraged many fans at the time because it had nothing to do with TP...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

"The Return" might refer to Coop working his way back to TP, as some have speculated. It's also interesting that DKL deliberately chose a title that, if we take it to refer to the franchise as a whole, hints at a new beginning rather than closure. While I count myself in the camp that is h...

Re: RE: Re: is there any other show that even comes close to your obsession with TP?

dylan has some good songs. DKL tells a great anecdote in The Art Life about a Dylan concert. It has a priceless quite from DKL at the end that delighted me as a huge fan of both men. oh i haven't been able to see that! i am not sure it has been released theatrically, and while i usually don't mind ...

Re: Those of you who WON'T watch the series as it goes along...

Well, I tried getting Rogue One for my sons and nephews to watch on New Year's Eve and it was terrible. You could tell someone just got video at a theater. That's obviously not going to be the case with a pirated TV broadcast, though. (Disclaimer: I'm not condoning piracy and personally never downl...

Re: Episode 13

Yeah,I'd forgotten how great this one is. Part of it is down to the writers (presumably in the interest of building to the reveal) taking time off from most of the stupider subplots that had been simmering. However, I think a lot of it is due to LLG's tremendous directing. Aside from a mercifully br...

Has anyone yet pointed out that in Episode 13, Ben says he has prepared a "dossier" on Josie and her late husband Andrew's boating accident? Hmm.

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

I'l just say this: I have my doubts Lynch will be content letting the final word on Twin Peaks be in a book by someone else. "Final word" from a release standpoint you mean? I don't see why he'd care. Obviously it's too early to know the nature of either S3 or the book, but I think the mo...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

Have people freeze-framed Andy's post-it notes and Lucy's desk blotter from Episode 12? There are a host of townspeople's names and other odd things (I assume it's mostly a propmaster's folly). One clear inside joke: "Call Harley Payton [sic] 're' Duckey [the rest of the note is out of focus bu...

Re: The Cowboy and the Frenchman

what's interesting is that i'm pretty sure that only parts of it are from that 16MM mystery bonus which makes it even stranger. Just did a side-by-side comparison. I can say definitively that there's no footage exclusive to those videos. It's all from 16MM. Not a leak, just an illegal posting of of...

Re: Hotel Room.. discussion and interpretations

have anyone read the third play Gifford wrote for the series? he published it in a book with "Tricks" and "Blackout". would be very interesting to read.. also if anyone have read it, are there any differences or notable things that shed light on "Tricks" and "Blac...

Re: Lynch 3 kickstarter

It benefits from being far more cohesive than the IE-era Lynch documentaries, but in a way, I preferred those, because my favorite parts were the on-set footage which is (expectedly) absent here. DKL fans will have heard or read many of the anecdotes before, but there's some terrific old home video ...

Btw, for the curious, DKL wears the hideous yellow watch throughout The Art Life. Either his latest OCD fad or maybe a gift from Lula?

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

Anyway, rockin' good news! Despite being an OCD continuity nut, I enjoyed much of TSHoTP a good deal. Excited to see what Mark has planned for what may end up being TP's final all-cards-on-the-table last stand. Continuity issues in Peaks have never bugged me. I think because I can't expect material...

Re: The Cowboy and the Frenchman

Dunno if this helps, but I just watched The Art Life , which also features cutaways to a lot of footage in this vein. It's been awhile since I sat through 16MM -- most of the stuff in TAL felt familiar to me, but there was definitely new stuff (including on set footage of DKL and baby Jennifer with ...
