Mr. Robot could also qualify, with every season 2 episode directed by creator Sam Esmail and most written by him.

And to stretch to the world of animation, the current season of Samurai Jack, with every episode written or co-written and directed by creator Genndy Tartakovsky.

The biggest change is the addition of the angels, which are necessary. The ending here is more and more darkness piling up with each new scene, and an ambiguous, doom laden final shot.
