Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

I'm pretty sure Lynch would see the place and characters as real even if they only existed in a dream reality, and in fact I doubt he even makes much of a distinction, because to him cinema itself is both a dream and reality.

Re: Who is Judy? (Spoilers)

Why would this horror thing be inside the White Lodge? "It is in our house now." I don't know why it's there but it seems to be. Actually I'm not convinced Cooper ever even left the Lodges. At the end at least I think he's in Judy's domain, which is where he's trying to bring Laura back f...

Re: How many times have you rewatched? (SPOILERS)

I've watched every episode at least three times, and the first few a good dozen now probably. For a while I watched every new episode a few times and then started over and watched all of them again before the next one. I stopped doing that after Part 8, but after about four more episodes I began aga...

Re: Philip Jeffries learned the horrific truth about Twin Peaks before we, the viewers did...

Not for nothin', but everyone calling Philip a teapot is a little funny to me. He obviously is or is inside the white light oval and is being sustained by and or communicates with the teapot. In 17 Dale and Mike are talking to the light oval, not the teapot. I've been wanting to say this too. I bel...

Re: Naido, Diane, & repressed memories (SPOILERS)

This is what I love about Lynch and why the more time passes the more I love what he did with this. Because since the finale I've been looking for a theory like this; something that would tie everything together as an internal reality that's only a reflection of an external one that we never get to ...

Re: Ep 18 - the only time we properly returned to TP - previous 17 episodes all exist in compressed time and space

im standing by my theory, that the first time cooper actually left the red room, or the black lodge, was in episode 18. after he exits glastonbury grove and meets diane. That's interesting because the one thing I feel pretty sure of is that when he steps out into Glastonbury Grove with Diane he is ...

Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

Something just occurred to me about Annie. If Mr C. made a point of finding and raping Diane and Audrey then how did Annie escape his attention? Actually you could replace Diane with Annie in this story and aside from a bit of FBI business it would arguably make more sense. Anyway I ultimately decid...

Ooooooohhhhhh duh. For some strange reason I kept overlooking that one, thinking it was an old track. That makes a lot more sense.

Could that be the track that plays when the boy gets run over? I know the title would be misleading but it's all I can think of and I want that track.

Re: Music From The New Series

dito.. people were complaining that there was so little traditional music in the first three parts, there was real exceptional sound design ala Alan Splet. there definitely was some low-key synth melodies and omnius sound that could pass for music but it added a lot of the first two parts, but once...

Re: Music From The New Series

Can someone identify the piece used during Dougie-Coop's arrival at work? Was that one of the old Solo Percussion tracks, or something new? i believe it's new but it did sound like Grady Tate.. could be wrong though I think it's Solo Percussion 4 I'm loving all the music for this thing. I've been g...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)q

It might just be an instance of authenticity: people rewear outfits in their lives. This is something Mad Men made a point of: for all the sexy wardrobes, Matt Weiner always made sure characters wore the same outfits multiple times throughout a season to show that they did have finite budgets. Mayb...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

But have you seen The Missing Pieces? I feel kinda bad raining on your excellent post, but if Lynch's intent matters to you, The Missing Pieces does pretty much destroy your premise. The happy Palmer dinner in which Leland encourages them to learn to introduce themselves in Norwegian takes place on...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

When you realize that those scenes take place on the last day of her life, they actually make a lot more sense and carry a lot more weight. Plus it solves that whole continuity problem, and explains why Leland took the pages to begin with. You know, I don't for a second think this is what Lynch int...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

I just had a revelation. Maybe this is nothing new to the rest of you, but it blew my mind. When this episode aired, I had a big problem with what was in the missing pages, because as presented in Fire Walk with Me, Laura gave Harold the diary before having the dream or discovering that BOB was her ...
