Re: Let's talk about MIKE
What do you think Gerard/MIKE is trying to do in his motel room when he is chanting "Fire walk with me" backwards in front of the circle of candles? Is it Philip Gerard showing he is a magician and summoning MIKE or is it MIKE performing some kind of ritual using Gerard's body? He is spea...

Re: The Buenos Aires/Convenience Store deleted scenes
It's in the Atmospherics Red Room feature (disc 10) as well as the menu from the same disc. Each Atmospherics has deleted bits inserted into them. How is Cooper's Red Room different from Leland's at the end of the film? Lynch mentions something about this in Lynch on Lynch. He says the Red Room chan...

Re: Let's talk about MIKE
They're both Austin, Lynch's son. And if they "both" still eat the corn of pain and sorrow, then I have to assume Big MIKE is still just as evil as Little MIKE and BOB. I just don't understand "BOB requires a human host. He feeds on fear and the pleasures." MFAP eats the corn of ...

Re: What if the mystery had never been solved?
BOB is never called "Robert" and it feels really random and simple. When I first started the series, I thought the letters under the fingernails were going to turn out to be something a lot more interesting and meaningful. Bob was spelling his name; a signature on a demon's self-portrait....

Re: What if the mystery had never been solved?
"He is BOB, eager for fun. He wears a smile; everybody run. Do you understand the parasite? It attaches itself to a life form and feeds. BOB requires a human host. He feeds on fear and the pleasures. They are his children. I am similar to BOB. We once were partners." Cooper's "conclus...

Re: Let's talk about MIKE
So how really do you think the Red Room domesticates/balances out BOB's furious momentum and the Arm's desire to Walk/stay together and take things slowly? Before I try to answer this question from the other thread (The Buenos Aires/Convenience Store deleted scenes: http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewt...

Re: The Bob/Leland relationship
In a way the baby is Henry's limitations or an external manifastation of the containment of his energies. The baby's head substitutes Henry's head at some point. Either before or after the phallic object pops out of his neck and the head falls to the ground. Part of the films power lies in the unco...

Re: The Bob/Leland relationship
On the one hand, as Nochimson and others have pointed out, Henry prefigured later Lynch heroes by exposing secrets and destroying his limitations. And yet he does so by exercising power and violence over a creature more helpless than he is. It gets more complicated when the baby mocks Henry after h...
