Pizzolato was open about Ligotti's influence to him. He talked about him in interviews during the first season and really wanted people to know about him. I see no wrong in that. I actually admire that.
And I just watched the fifth episode of season two. This series rocks!

Re: Sense8
The "new-age philosohpy" is there just for the story, more or less. The main philosophy behind the show seems to be solidarity, self-worth, freedom and stuff like that. It is clear that if you don't care for these characters, then the show can't work for you, because that's what it's all a...

Re: Sense8
I absolutely fell in love with Sense8! The strongest point for me too was great characters and emotional connection. That's not so common nowadays. But also the concept itself was very clever as a TV show format. There was everything, action, drama, comedy, scifi, mystery and even occasional horror....

Re: True Detective
Three episodes in and I'm actually totally on board! It has legs of it's own and they ain't made of clay! I love it! And there is actually quite strong Lynch vibe going on this season. Not in pastiche way but like honest salute. When that Conway Twitty song started playing with the blue light, I was...

Re: The Tremonds
I think it is important that the only magician we see in the whole TP is the little boy (played by Lynch's own son in the series itself). To me he has always been the magician in the poem. He can do magic to open portals to the black lodge (or red room as Lynch seems to prefer). He's there when Laur...

Re: The Cast of Twin Peaks Then & Now
You know, in the end it's not about who's hot and who's not, it's about what happens 25 YEARS LATER. At this point I'm willing to take anything they'll throw at me. It will be amazing, with an amazing cast! We are all older (hell, I was seventeen/eighteen when the show aired) so it will be different...

Re: Something random I noticed after Major Brigg's abduction
I've always thought that this is exactly what Major Briggs means. He asks if the wood will be the final place of his soul. Like others said, Josie was there too and she's seen by Pete and Ben near the end of the series. Also there was this piece that was cut out where an asian woman (Josie) is in bl...

Re: Let's talk about Judy
Even though agent Jeffries ask us not to talk about Judy, he himself mentions her couple of times in the original FWWM shooting script. It might not be clear what he's talking about altogether but he's sure that Judy is positive about that. But more importantly, later he refers to that meeting above...

Re: True Detective
This is an amazing show! I haven't been this mesmerized by a TV show in ages. By the time they mentioned The King in Yellow I knew this is gonna be the next Twin Peaks for me. It will take some serious turns, I presume. Every aspect of this show has been so great. And like you said, it is very cinem...
Re: Judy
One thing to consider when it comes to Judy is that monkey. We see it when we hear the "Judy" whisper when Laura is wrapped in plastic, but we also see that the boy magician is a monkey. If that line: "fell a victim" could mean that the boy magician is also a victim then it would...

Re: Twin Peaks Inspired Music
I know there are lots of very different musicians here in Finland that have cited Lynch and Twin Peaks as their influences throughout the years. TP was pretty big here and it clearly affected to whole generation of bleedinghearts (me being one of them :)). Nightwish's Tuomas Holopainen has mentioned...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion
If I remember it right the Gold Box set had all of the film rescanned from the original film prints and that's the reason the image quality is so good on DVD (and probably will be even better on Blu-Ray). But those visual fx were only on a lesser videotape format and that's why they look so bad like...

Re: Twin Peaks reboot in the works?
I'll have to admit that I would love to see this thing happening for real. I've seen so many seasons of TP in my dreams in these past decades that it would be just amazing to watch a real one :) Of course this can't and shouldn't be done without Lynch but I think that also Frost is almost equally im...

Re: Lynch on the late Carlo Rambaldi, creature creator
Carlo also did some amazing stuff in italian giallo films in seventies, like Dario Argento's Deep Red. And he did unbelieveable job in Zulawski's Possessed with practically no time or budget! Possession is an amazing film. Yes indeed! Some folks don't like the acting style in Possession (I just not...
