Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I may be totally off on this, but here's what I'm thinking: The first announcement in October 2014 we were told there were going to be 9 episodes, right? Mark Frost later said in an interview to "never say never" when asked about the possibility of making a 4th season (if the 3rd turned o...

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year

I just looked at my Showtime Anytime app to see if the episodes are there and noticed they all have an expiration date of 2/14/17. Probably just some arbitrary app thing but I thought it was interesting.

I think it's the one where they throw the ball around with their hands.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Showtime has released most premieres on demand early for the past couple of years but I assumed they wouldn't with TP. I'll take it though!

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

They should have an old school 'next time on twin peaks' teaser with random stills set to out of context audio. It would give us weeks of material to munch on, build buzz, and reveal practically nothing.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I've said it a few times but I think Emmy eligibility is key and I bet on the April date too. Showtime wants awards and they struck gold with GOT missing this year's window.

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

I suggested The OA after getting to episode 5 or 6 and I kind of had to walk it back after that ending. The show still has merit though and kept me pretty captivated for my entire day off. But yeah... I can't fully recommend it for everyone anymore.

So I just finished the OA and be warned, the ending is... interesting. I still liked it quite a bit.

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

I'm loving the OA on Netflix. Like (the first half of) Twin Peaks the show has a unique tone and is completely sure of itself. Whether you like the content (which is nothing like TP) may be another matter. I don't even want to say what it's about. Just watch the first episode.

I vote for Penny Dreadful and Homeland (which goes way off the rails gets back on very nicely).

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year

I remember my days in an entertainment store where customers would return dvds because there were black bars on their screen. It took everything I had not to lecture them on aspect ratio. That said - was the pilot shot open matte since a theatrical release was part of the deal? I might be interested...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

I really enjoyed Search Party. I watched the whole season in one sitting. I second the Channel Zero recommendation, although it reminded me mostly of Stephen King's It. I'm so sad Westworld is over. It took my mind off of Twin Peaks for 10 glorious weeks. It has joined Twin Peaks and Lost for me as ...

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year

Didn't see anyone mention this. Before The Affair last night they re-aired the Michael Horse promo but at the end the title card said 'seasons 1 & 2 - visit sho.com/twinpeaks'. Nothing too new but exciting nonetheless.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

As one of the rare Gimore Girls/Twin Peaks hybrid fans I can speak to this conversation. I just finished the revival and it's almost perfect. If Twin Peaks comes close to nailing it the way GG did I'll be thrilled. Also I really haven't seen fans complaining that much and the imdb ratings are higher...
