Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

I beg to differ , we as the fans literally gave them a job and a salary to create something we could enjoy and they're really playing with us here . I don't recall literally giving them a job and a salary. Frost/Lynch worked for years on the script without a dime and expanded it when they got the S...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

Oh god, the atomic bomb audio is orgasmic. Those visuals! This is fucking incredible. I hope the scoffers are choking on their donuts. HilGthRhwP8 Of course. Loved his use of Penderecki in Inland Empire as well. Wasn't there some in another Lynch film? Wild at Heart? I still haven't been able to ge...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

are they selling tickets? Do they have permission? If so, why isn't this happening in LA? If it is happening in LA, why can't someone tell me where? Why is this not happening everywhere with the theaters to do it? Is this 1945 or 2017? Someone missed the boat in the marketing department...How many ...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

I looked for Badalamenti in the music credits. Obvs the main music featured involved established composers/ bands, bu the other song "Slow 30s Room", was credited to "David Lynch and Dean Hurley." I'm not sure which song that was -- but: the music playing as the Giant levitated ...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

anyone else struck by how Guy Maddin-esque some of this season has been?) Just the timeline scrubbing edits. It's a fun way to induce some semi-randomness, but yeah -- reeks of Winnipeg! The visuals are so damn Lynch. The sound design is to die for. I'm so glad they had room this season to work thi...

Coop got 5 dollars in change for gambling at the casino....how exactly did he win 29 jackpots if he received 20 quarters(5 dollars) if he doesn't ever take any of the winnings with him? At least I didn't notice him taking any of the winnings with him, he just gets up and leaves the machine and head...

Re: Product Placement in 2017 Twin Peaks (Spoilers)

Great to hear from somebody who understands how product placement works instead of just perpetuating the usual cynicism about marketing. Not that people SHOULDN'T be cynical about the horrors of marketing, but some of the presumptions on this thread are just not how it works in the industry.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I don't know what settings you've got on your TV, but I've been working in post for over 20 years, I've done plenty of grading work, I know what cameras and lenses do and how they affect the final look of a video and I can assure you that what is on screen isn't being made to look 'filmic.' Sure, i...

Re: S3 Episode 1 fully re-edited (with old music)

Well, that pretty conclusively proves why wholesale recycling of the old score would've been a horrible idea. Respectfully.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm the biggest film-worshiping snob on the planet, willing to sell grandma for 16mm and with a feature amidst the final batch of Kodachrome ever processed, but man -- what utter nonsense that they were purposely after a flat, electronic look. You'll never get a quote from Lynch or Deming agreeing ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know, and such small portions." ..comes to mind as it must to more than a few. 7 was an utter hoot, I'd suggest checking with a ...
