Re: The Artist
Happy to hear that, Gordon! I don't find it exactly a masterpiece, either, but... well, every word you said!

Re: Music, Music, Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the last couple of weeks I've been listening mainly to two things, as different form each other as can be: 1. Tom Waits. Anything I could lay my hand on! The album I listened to the most was definitely Blood Money, but also Rain Dogs and Alice and some of the older stuff from the 70s as well. I'...

Re: Pictures Of You
Well if you can call travelling to England during winter holidays a way to improve my English as well as my knowledge about the country - then in a way you could probably say I was at work
It didn't feel like work, though.

Re: Watched this for the first time last night...
I'd love to carry out an experiment: show this film to someone STARTING from the moment Diane wakes up all worn out, watch til the end, and then start all over again from the beginning... such a loop. I wonder if the structure of the film was all clear then. Cause it wasn't for me after I first watc...

Re: I Put A Spell On You Song
Her version is one of the best! Although the original still tops everything. The way he sings it!!! And the Lost Highway version is by far the second best for me. I've also heard all the ones mentioned by Rebel as well as one by The Animals and well, Bryan Ferry, although it's rather a diffe...

Re: First time you saw Fire Walk With Me
I will probably be shunned for saying this, but the very first time I saw FWWM was on the Internet. Shun you!!! Shun you a hundred times!!! in Poland. It was the only chance to see it in the theater. It went off the screen next week. Now c'mon! it wasn't that bad. It can't have been that bad...

How great it sounds
Well it's just that August 2nd is the time the baby should get born, that's gonna be tough!

Re: The Artist
But there are no ambiguous things there like whether the protagonist is going to marry the girl and later kill her, you know; it's a simple story. On the other hand in Twin Peaks it's also a pretty clear thing and yet you find a way to read more into it than Cooper and Annie say, well...

Re: Last Book You Read
But I like to read plays, too! I know it's not exactly the typical way but I really enjoy it. And with Shakespeare it's additionally a language thing, this language is very difficult for me but it's a challenge at the same time, and pleasure, too. But of course I saw at least two versions of Tempest...

Re: Temp of the town in 90-91 ~
For me it is inseparably connected with my school years. Season 1 aired in Poland at the end of primary school (we were about 15), it was time of a definite childhood's end, we were excited about entering a new, more adult world, and an experience such as Twin Peaks hit the nail for practically ever...

... and the Oscar goes to...
I wonder who it goes to this year. I've got my opinions about the Academy's verdicts from past years. Some major mistakes IMO, although I tend to think that if a film gets awarded, it's most probably good. After this year's ceremony has gone, I'd like to discuss here some past Oscars but for now - w...

Re: The Artist
I saw it a few days ago. Found it great! After leaving the cinema I was so enthusiastic that I wanted to dance in the street :D What can I say - it's just highly entertaining. It's not really artistic , definitely not in the bad meaning, but actually in none. OK, the idea itself is avant-garde: blac...
