Re: Simultaneous Tweets from David Lynch & Mark Frost

I wouldn't have any problem with them recasting BOB if they felt BOB needed to reappear for the story. It's not ideal but I'd rather have them not have any restrictions with the narrative then change the story because the actor has passed.

Re: Simultaneous Tweets from David Lynch & Mark Frost

I don't want to keep my hopes up... but man... I agree with others it's too much for them to simultaneously drop a tweet like that if there wasn't something that was a go. I'm sure the sales of the box sets (despite the unresolved technical issues) has helped boost commercial interest in a TP reviva...

In his early years in LA, David would go to Bob's Big Boy every day and have a chocolate malt.
Ah, thanks for the closure.

Re: David Lynch has a new script completed

I agree on a practical level... if Lynch returned to television he would have to be a committed show runner in a way he wasn't with TP (I still wonder what may have been had Mulholland Drive been a successful pilot). TV is almost by necessity an even more collaborative medium than film, as writing a...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

I found the scene with Cooper and Diane odd, namely because she would seem to be right off screen in the office where Cooper is doing exercises in the doorway, yet we never hear her respond to Cooper. It's almost as if Diane is a figment of Cooper's imagination. Not that I'd interpret the scene that...

Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread

The more I dig into the sync issues the more confused I am by it. I got the second set of discs from Amazon. I put in Disc 9 of the new set and found no sync issues, but then I checked the A/V Sync setting I discovered and found it was set at the same place I set it to fix the original problem. Was...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

It is possible to relate to Lynch's films on an academically emotional level though, right? Of course it's possible! I hope that's not a question born from something I wrote. It shouldn't be. Certainly I was in no way challenging that, nor challenging academic analysis in general. My point, which p...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

As big a fan of Lynch and Twin Peaks as I am, I've never related to his work on a strictly academic level. I feel symbolism is most potent when it springs directly from the viewer's subconscious and conscious reactions, drawing directly from each viewer's perception and experience. My admiration for...

Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread

I notified Amazon, where I purchased the discs, of the issue. I asked them to contact CBS of the issue and find out if there is a plan to fix it, but they said no one else has reported the issue and they are sending me new discs. So at the very least may be able to tell if it's a problem with certai...

Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread

I've edited my post with the model number. Apparently some Sony Blu-Ray players have issues syncing with television receivers, and the A/V Sync option is used to correct. So it seems to be a coincidence that it helps correct the problem on these TP Discs, which are inherent in the discs themselves. ...

Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread)

Hello, Apologies for those who would like one for starting a new thread on this. I did not want to venture into the discussion threads since I haven't watched The Missing Pieces yet. I hope it's acceptable for there to be a separate tech thread that doesn't involve the actual content. I've googled i...
