The sad thing is, she probably thinks of those films in higher regard than she does TP.

Yes, Ross, thank you for bringing up Norma's hair! If anyone needed a big blonde wig in this movie, it was Peggy Lipton. That was so glaringly inconsistent, it made no sense to me. Right! I mean how easy would it have been to throw a wig or hairpiece on her!? I guess on the small screen (as opposed...

I would have much rather had Lara Flyn Boyle in FWWM- having a different actress has always been annoying. (I know they had no control over this as Lara was a big ole' B. who refused to do the movie). Moira did a good job of playing a more innocent Donna, but she just wasn't Donna. And I could belie...

As far as I'm concerned, there is not one note that rings false in Sheryl Lee's performance. Lynch and Lee must have done a lot of research into the behavior of victims of child abuse and all of if makes perfect psychological sense. I agree. Sheryl was amazing in the film. She embodied everything L...

Ok. Cool idea.

Ross, in theory no show is made up on the fly -most are supposed to submit an outline to the network (the ones supplying the money) -some, like Chase and Frost and Lynch have more creative license where the networks can't really interfere -but story outlines have to be submitted months before they ...

I'm not saying it didn't feel natural by the end. I'm just saying it was not planned. Yes, minor story arcs are invented on the script stage or on the spot for the Sopranos too, but not the major ones, as far as I know. This has nothing to with the question of quality. I think the Sopranos is way o...

Not even a little bit different? Am I the only one who feels it's weird that in a high-profile continuing series like Twin Peaks the point of the series finale is actually decided upon extremely late in the process, and after most of the season's already been filmed (confirmed by Harley Peyton)? Th...

Umm... Virtually ALL TV shows- including soaps - are "made up as they go along". TP was certainly no different in that respect.

As you can see from the linked thread, I asked this very same question a couple months ago. Might be one of those things we never know, unless someone involved with the show is asked about it sometime - and if they even remember!

The Palmer house used in FWWM is (annoyingly) quite different than the one in the series. It was actually one thing that really bugged my when I first saw FWWM. In the Pilot, they shot the Palmer house interiors on location- but for the rest of the series, it was on a studio set. In the film, they a...
