Thank you so much, moviemaker! Some of those pictures were in that article in the Missoula News. Then I guess that proves that David did spend some time in North Carolina. Really cool.

Aw, Medard, that's sweet. I LOVE seeing Glinda floating above Sailor, saying, "Don't turn away from love." Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet are my absolute favorites, so far.

Amazon.com has two release dates on the same page, July 24 and August 14. Guess we'll see. And it's an $11 discount from the regular price. I also noticed that there and Amazon.co.uk there are no movie reviews. First time I've ever seen a blank slate on Amazon. Anybody here care to rectify that situ...

Thanks moviemaker! That makes it a lot easier for me. However, we still haven't solved the mystery about where the movie was filmed. When I first read the article, it had pictures of the historic "Wilma" building, which David lived in and then filmed in for Dorothy's apartment. Anybody kno...

Not sure about that. I just went back to the link of that article, and it's dead. So I'll come back later and type in more of the original interview, although it doesn't specifically tell you where it was filmed.

That sounds wonderful that you had such great teachers in school! So you really are a moviemaker; when can we expect to see something by you?

Welcome to the board, moviemaker! You are my new best friend. I obviously love DUNE and Blue Velvet is my favorite DL movie, too, as you can tell from my avatar. I don't know where I read this, but David did acknowledge that by making DUNE, he was then able to ask for final cut on Blue Velvet, so he...

Isn't that an interesting article? I was going to post it until I saw your post. So I wonder if they are expecting us fans to buy the documentary, too, in addition to everything else!

Thanks for posting that. I wasn't even aware that Cannes had started, since David doesn't have anything in the running. I have to go watch it on a different computer!

OK, I just watched it; that is so bizarre! Unfortunately the computer I had to use had no sound, so I hope the music was good.

I really think with all of DL's movies, especially IE, you HAVE to see it multiple times to really judge it. I was amused and confused. Can't wait for the DVD!

I'm really glad to see people this interested in DUNE. But it's done for good. David has said he'll never touch it again. Anybody here read the script? They've got it on an MSN group called the Landsraad. Not totally the same as the movie; but it had to be written before the movie was shot. I love i...

Well, I'd say, yes, it does add a lot of Fremen history. But we could get that from the books. I didn't need the Alan Smithee version to understand the David Lynch movie. All you have to do is read. Am I sounding like a broken record?

Well, since my book is packed away with my other memorabilia awaiting a move, I can say the book was very short. It has the basic story line about Sailor and Lula. But DL added a lot of his usual quirkiness to the movie that wasn't in the book. I've never seen the screenplay, but I just checked the ...
