Re: Viewer reaction is the same as it was back then (SPOILERS)
I disagree. The fact that it's not as much of a major phenomenon as the first season is because times have changed, and there are numerous quality dramas for people to watch. Even despite this Twin Peaks is creating a lot of buzz with the risks it's taking and will no doubt inspire a whole new gene...

Re: New Merchandise Roundup (Officially Licensed)
Anybody know if those action figures, when sold individually, come in the retro ReAction boxes like the other lines of action figures they make? I can't find photos of the boxes online. I don't think I want to buy the four pack.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
Depending on where the 3rd season and Mark Frosts next book coming out later this year leaves everything, another creative team MIGHT be possible if building something new (think Fargo TV series vs. Movie kind of connection). Absolutely not. No matter the eventual quality of this season, the preced...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
We don't really have any control here on the ratings, so the only way we can show our support to Showtime is to communicate via forms like petitions. That will at least show them that The Return still has the support of a dedicated audience. And no, I don't think it's too early to sign a petition. ...

2. Realism. From a response on the Guardian: [Lynch] made the point that in a day, a person might have an argument, share a stupid joke with some friends, see some horrible murders on TV, sit in an office doing boring stuff, sit in an empty bar where pretty much nothing was happening listening to m...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I think Doppelcoop's line about being "nice and wet" is unquestionably cringeworthy and shoddy. Well, this is Lynch, and he's had several scenes and characters like that (Frank Booth, Bobby Peru). I didn't find it cringe inducing, just obvious. I love Evil Coop, but feel the fact that he ...

Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)
I'm sure this has been discussed, but we're not supposed to know exactly what Tony Sinclair did wrong by looking at the insurance forms, correct? I'm not talking about fan fiction theories, but rather something that's obvious on the pages themselves. Clearly it's some form of insurance fraud, but ha...

A better NIN song to use in this episode would have been "Into the Void" with the lyric "Tried to save myself, but my self keeps slipping away."

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
No I didn't. I had hopes after ep 7 as it showed a bit of promise, but I felt they were dashed on the rocks with ep 8. To me, personally, it's felt heartbreaking watching what has been screened so far. Too bad. I think what it's good to keep in mind is that this is not the original show, and it's n...

I'm also in the mixed-to-disappointed category, but didn't you enjoy Part 8 at least?Venus wrote:I'm still profoundly disappointed so am in the right thread for that. Good to know.

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome) (SPOILERS)
My enthusiasm for the NiN performance led me to check our their music yesterday, but I happened to watch the video for Happiness in Slavery which is the single most disturbing thing I've ever watched. I recoiled in horror to the safety of the The Beatles, and really wish I could unsee that video! :...

Re: Halftime Poll: Favorite Part So Far
Even though I "liked" Part 8 the most, it was more of an interlude to me than anything. The show is likely going back to the problems it has had all along. Considering that, I'd have to say that Part 2 was the best. Aside from Part 8, the show has gone downhill hour to hour since Part 2.

Re: "This is the water, and this is the well..." poem (Spoilers)
Just like many things Lynch does, he just meant this to evoke a mood and mystery, not be analyzed too much. The impression I get from the whole killer Woodsman scene is that it's a reaction to the ignition of the bomb. Whatever planet or dimension these beings come from, they are taking more notice ...

The shot of Coop shot and splayed on the ground, before he sits up, reminded me of Frank Booth after he was shot.
In Part 7, the exploded car detective asked the Lost Highway line "What do you mean by that?"
