Re: Roy Orbison, Chris Isaak +++

Weird. I didn't even know there were two version of the Ritts video. Seems like a strange inclusion, unless they're very different (which I highly doubt).

Re: Roy Orbison, Chris Isaak +++

I'm 95 percent sure that Lynch's Wicked Game video is on that collection since it says that there are two versions included (the other being the video with Helena Christensen, directed by Herb Ritts).

Re: New French Twin Peaks L'intégrale DVD Box Set - Nov 13th

Gotcha. I guess I can see how the gold box could be seen as better from a marketing angle, though the gold is pretty generic too. (I was never a fan of all those silver box sets either, and gold is even worse.) I would definitely not walk right by this one, though. The mysterious light at the end of...

Re: Fanedits?

I have neither read the book or the script myself, but the idea behind all these versions is to insert footage from the extended TV version into the theatrical cut while trying to keep the music cues right and the tone and flow consistent. Since there are deleted scenes that are now available on DVD...

Re: Fanedits?

I saw the "Reconstructed workprint" version, and I liked it a lot better than the theatrical cut. Even with footage from different sources, including parts in inferior video qualit (the deleted scenes), it flowed better. Since I watched it, though, there have been two more fanedits release...

The cover is beautiful, though! That's what the Gold Box should have looked like. I'm undecided about the lettering, but the image and image manipulation itself - at least from what I can glean on the web - look very, very good.

Re: Let's talk changes: how would you change the second season?

Great posts. I love the idea of this being season 11 or whathaveyou, with the viewers having fun trying to catch up. One idea: Julee Cruise sings "Up in Flames" at one point during this season. That song IS post-FWWM Twin Peaks to me. It starts with a scary alarm-like sound and the bass f...

Re: Let's talk changes: how would you change the second season?

It's only in this thread for the time being. I think the reposts - i.e. the updated and best versions of each episode - are somewhere around page 58. It begins at episode 15 or 2.08. The last ten pages or so are an attempt to continue from there, post-mirror smashing.

Re: "Do your palms ever itch?" All things Audrey

It's back on! As with all the entries in this thread, I love your insights. I hadn't seen the Holland quote before - it confirms that he knew better than most of the crew what the show was about from his first day. I watched this episode again recently, and the creepiness of Jean Renault comforting ...

Re: Let's talk changes: how would you change the second season?

Not only that, it makes Audrey's age much closer to Fenn's. Having an actress who was already too old play a teenager who doesn't age was jarring enough on the actual show.

Re: Let's talk changes: how would you change the second season?

Well, I don't think it has to be Badalamenti for it to feel like a part of the Twin Peaks world. Big band, Broadway (only second hand, even), and Louis Armstrong are all distant enough in the same way that Vinton and Orbison were distant enough to be the soundtrack to Blue Velvet. Everything that fe...
