Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I like slow television. Not in the sense of floor sweeping, or escorts using forever to get the hell out of the room, but just that meditative sense of not jumping quickly and hurriedly between scenes, or having dialogues sounding like rap battles. Let them play out. Now, if someone could take a bi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

A few laughs (BOB the angry flying ball vs Green Glove Man + the fucking ending) aside from that, a total mindfuck and a waste of everything. Cooper saving Laura from her fate and basically erasing the all story... but did he really succeed? I mean she disappeared at some point. All the Coop/Diane j...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I didn't view the European ending to be this simple. I did. When I rented it in the early 90's, the guy from the video store warned me "It's like Lynch sniffed coke while shooting the ending" . I think he was right. For The Return I don't know how much of the budget was used in recreation...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I just didn't find him nearly as mysterious in the Euro material as later on in the series and FWWM, or now - running around with a gun and giving the cops a long unbroken expository speech. It was a compromise between Lynch's sense of dream logic and an urgent need to wrap the plot up in 10 minute...

Sorry, I've just changed it for a Laura Dern beauty shot one...
She did the same in Blue Velvet, once you've seen It, you can't unsee It.

Lynch answered me the same thing when I asked him about the show (yeah we are pals). So the Julee Cruise photo might be totally legit.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I noticed one song when Mr C kills Ray and in the part 16 driving scene right away. I was hoping to find the one from the night driving scene of episode 8, and the one with Coop and family at the casino from episode 16. But so far no luck. :( Curious to hear if this group would be in favour of S4 ?...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I wonder if the reason we've heard little in the way of new, very recognisable material from Badalamenti is age related. I know there has been a smattering of new tunes but nothing comparable to first time round. Yesterday I found out that even the few new tunes are not from Badalamenti but from a ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Those who say "it's bad" got their use of language wrong. It's rather "i don't like it" because it's a matter of taste after all. Therefore: I like it and am sad you seemingly can't or won't for whatever reason. Je ne sais pas ce qui m'énerve le plus, Lynch devenu complètement g...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I liked Coop and his family at the casino, even if the entire show is mainly bullshit to me, I found this scene moving. Mr C scene was ok, but I expected much more from the father and son's reunion. Liked Badalamenti's score in this episode, discreet and more Mulholland Drive than TP but nice. Diane...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

That may have been the wrong turn of phrase, but what I'm saying is you or anyone has every right to dislike it based on their own POV on the material... I totally get it and was thinking to post something similar in the other threads: Hey guys that's OK you have every right to like it, based on yo...

Unfair really?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Kevin Smith is a basically a hack who should never be allowed within 100 yards of a film set. I agree but... I really liked Chasing Amy. This one is a gem, at least for me. 8) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L9io-b9Uew Kids watched E15, they both loved it and wanted to re watch it as soon as it en...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I watch several reviewers of the show on YT (all very positive about it naturally, for the most part) but even if I don't share their enthusiasm it's always interesting. For example, this one from last episode: lICUCgJ3LiQ&index=13&list=PLm4XLke0iGpvdVkapZlT5q_Q7hTSe-fl7 The 3/15 idea is, re...
