Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

It's interesting to wonder if that's why Booper (Dopple-Coop?) was so frantic and Bob-like at first - barely able to pass as human and smashing his head into the mirror. Maybe he was also newly born. Now we get to deal with the fully matured monster. Yeah, what we saw of him in the final moments of...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Kudos to Gabriel for the last couple of posts (the one debunking the idea that we couldn't have had a continuation that would feel more in tune with what came before and still be a valid, relevant, and - crucially - update d TP experience and the one explaining his attitude towards Lynch and TP). Ex...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think the folks saying they didn't want nostalgia are being a little disingenuous. Most would have been happy with more of the same, updated for 2017, supported by an engaging storyline, intriguing new characters and quotable dialogue. If it *had* been more of the same, would we be having this co...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

Come on. It was like watching a couple of dimwits blabbering nonsense to fritter the (run)time away. I know it's Lynch but it's also supposed to be Peaks. Yeah, yeah, I get it, this is not some nostalgic rehash, but I still find the scene AWFUL. So shoot me. They were not blathering nonsense. They ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

One thing that still bugs me a bit is the coldness of Bad Coop. He seems too emotionless. He kills people with a gun. I like that he hits with his fist, straight to the face. That's brutal to me. That's terrifying to watch. That's what Leland did to Maddy too. But to shoot his victims with a gun do...

It was like watching Vladimir and Estragon in Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Excruciating.
Literally my favorite scene set in the town thus far. R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The only thing that actually bothers me, so far, is the lack of music in all scenes. Sure, many themes were majorly overplayed in the original but the stark silence has been tough to overcome. It makes every scene feel like we are watching a stage play. I didn't sign up for a stage play. Sent from ...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I don't think it's very good. Another dime a dozen crime show with a tortured male lead. Hmmm... Your description could also apply to The Sopranos, I guess. :) Uh, no. Ray Donovan is the poor man's Sopranos. In fact, if you've seen the Sopranos, there is absolutely no need to see a single episode o...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

Also I really hope we get more of the Hornes. I feel kind of duped with them. "Duped" would be an understatement in my case. That Horne brothers scene has to be a contender for the most awful scene in the whole of Twin Peaks. It felt like you're witnessing two gimps in a stage play. And p...
