Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)
First impressions: I absolutely loved the first 20 minutes of Episode 3. Twin Peaks meets Eraserhead. Disorientating, surreal and brain-scrambling. The combination of that weird glitching effect and the incessant thumping on the door was more akin to psychological torture than entertainment, and I h...

Re: Parts 1 + 2 (Spoilers)
Without spoilers, I will say that Eps 3-4 were more difficult for me but the first 30 minutes of episode 3 blew my mind. Only watched Eps 1 & 2 and the first 30 mins of episode 3 so far. Was too tired last night to watch more. Far too much to process. Can't pass a definitive judgement until we ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
What prep are you guys doing tomorrow then? I'm going to watch FWWM just before and time it just up to the broadcast, and probably do Blue Velvet before. I was planning on rewatching everything: pilot, season 1, season 2, FWWM and the Missing Pieces. Season 1 was a breeze, and generally enjoyed sea...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
I assumed Lynch was talking about Twin Peaks the TV show. I'd be truly shocked if he wasn't still proud of FWWM.AXX°N N. wrote: I find it shocking he's only very proud of the pilot, though, considering his consistent defense of FWWM, including recently.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Last 45 min of Mulholland Dr ... are what I consider Lynch firing on all pistons. Brilliantly directed material. Absolutely agree with this. The TV pilot part of MD feels patchy and episodic, with a number of characters / plot lines that go nowhere (these threads were clearly going to be developed ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
The last three trailers have been fantastic. As I hoped, we got to see some new faces this time. Hoping for at least one more trailer, with more new characters and new footage. Love the minimalist style and soundtrack of these recent ads: revealing a little more each time. These trailers are so hypn...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Agree that the GOT, Breaking Bad ad is awful. Twin Peaks has always stood apart. I like Breaking Bad (though prefer Better Call Saul) and a few other recent shows (first series of True Detective especially), but none of them compare to Twin Peaks. Let other shows try to emulate Twin Peaks if they wi...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
I just wish Lynch doesn't overdo it with his esoteric (for lack of a better term) sensibilities. I want Dale Cooper, not Maharishi Mahesh Yogi... Also, I'm more a fan of Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart than of Mulholland Drive (haven't yet seen Lost Highway and Inland Empire, nor am I much eager to s...

Re: A List of My Favorite Lynch Films
1. Inland Empire 2. Lost Highway 3. FWWM 4. Mulholland Dr. 5. Blue Velvet 6. Eraserhead 7. Wild at Heart 8. The Elephant Man 9. The Straight Story 10. Dune I love Inland Empire for many of the reasons that others seem to dislike it. It's pure, uncut Lynch. Every time I watch it I find something new ...

Re: Wishes...Hopes...& Dreams
First time poster here. Really excited about S3 of Twin Peaks, and delighted that Lynch is directing the entire run. While I loved Twin Peaks at the time, watching it again recently (after purchasing the box set), I was struck by how dated it seemed in places, and how uneven it was. There were momen...
